Answer to Question 1
The employees and the organizational culture play a vital role during handling the
crisis situations. Proper embedding of the right corporate culture is essential for handling the
crisis situation in an effective manner. The culture of the company needs to make the
different issues as the integral part of corporate culture (Ang & Van Dyne, 2015). Moreover,
proper training and empowering the employees is essential to act fast in times of the negative
incidents. Lastly, the company needs to embrace the change and thus flexible along with
adaptable in continuing which will be helpful for them in finding ways to meet the ever-
expanding expectations of the stakeholders in an appropriate manner.
Answer to Question 2
In case of Delta, it is evident that CEO of Delta has been able to develop as well as
implement exemplary culture that has enabled company in achieving the international
standards (Ang & Van Dyne, 2015). There has been development of terminal and
instrumental values within culture which has helped managers and employees to be fully
committed towards the success of the organization and offer customers with excellent
services.
On the other hand, in United the organizational culture is demotivating and the CEO
has created instrumental values of frugality and the culture has created situation wherein
there is no cooperation between employees and managers and it affects the customer service
negatively.

It is advisable that United can copy culture of Delta as they have been successful and
it will be helpful in steering the growth of the company to the international levels (Lambert,
2016). The culture of company is integral part which should be known by CEO of United and
it establishes the particular manner of attitude and behavior which can be followed by
employees and treat the customers in a proper manner. In following the culture of Delta,
United will be able to provide the customers with proper service that will be helpful in
managing the operations in a successful manner.
