Airline Operation 2
Question one
Many incidents of Airline accident have occurred due to the lack of proper preparations
towards the flight operations. The main airline’s Flight operations involves flight dispatcher, how
the flight office assist planning the path, recording proper performance of the aircraft including
loading, forecasting of turbulence and thunderstorm, condition of the air, and finally the
restrictions in the air. To facilitate effective and efficiency in the airline's operations, professional
preparations are important. These preparations improves readiness in which the flight is
conducted effectively throughout the whole trip [1]. The airline’s operation preparations helps to
mitigate flight risk and accidents which may exist in the process. Lack of proper preparations
from the experts of flight, always results are the absence of effectiveness and efficiency in the
flight operation. The required airline operations also involves the following activities from the
above one; fuel calculation, air traffic control, fluent communication channels, takeoff briefing,
briefings on timeliness, coordination among the experts, and other preparation according to the
flight requirements [2].
Question two
The general preparation of Airline Operations is essential to have "Airline Flight
Operations" as the main component to complete the process of airline operations. The functions
of "Airline Flight Operations" are used to contribute the readiness of the flight thus, facilitating
effectiveness and efficiency in the whole airline operations being performed from the start to the
end of the flight. These airline flight operations are essential because they maintain aircrew
control of the daily roster, according to the aviation and company law, and procedures and
regulations of the airline operations [3]. Airline Flight Operations supports the whole
preparations coordinating all operational and technical factors which can influence the flight

from the initial planning until the flight reaches the destination. Landing and overflight permits,
navigation and control operation are one the main parts of Airline Flight Operations [4].
Question three
Actual Accident – Lion Air Flight JT 610
Since 2016 up to date, many accidents have been witnessed due to lack of proper
preparation of flight operations. The recent accident of this type occurred Asia on 29th October
2018, when Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft crashed shortly after taking off from Jakarta, the
Indonesian Capital. The air crash was as a result of two combination factors, both human and
technique challenges. Those technical problems inside the plane include an unreliable instrument
for measuring airspeed, and they were the difference between the captain's altitude readings from
that of first officer’s machines [5].
Lessons Learnt
After the airline incident of Lion Air Flight JT 610, several investigations have taken
place about the accident, and few lessons were learned. All these lessons they end up showing
that Flight preparations are critical to have an effective and efficient operations which will
reduce flight problems. The lessons learned include; it is essential to have experienced personnel
along line airline’s operations; this helps to reduce human error in the preparations. Another
lesson is that clear communication and cooperation between the captain under operation, and the
first officer in the system is essential. Before takeoff of the flight, proper investigation is required
to be performed and to have clear check-up whether all instruments in the plane are working
properly. This investigation will reduce unnecessary technical errors which might occur in the

flight. Another lesson is that, is essential to maintain safe and sound flight records since they will
help to win customer trust now and in the future. Also, it is critical to have regular maintenance
of the plane's spare apart and important the whole plane before any flight.
Pre Measures to Prevent the Accident
Several measures could have been taken before and after the flight takes off to prevent
the crash. If the regular maintenance were done on the plane, it would be difficult to have fault
instruments like an instrument to measure airspeed. This measure might have mitigated the
technical error to occur. Effective communication and understandability is required between all
parties in the flight preparation and when the flight is in progress. The mechanism of
communication will reduce human error and improve safe records of the plane. They should be a
clear and effective measure to be undertaken in case of an emergency to reduce fatal accidents to
happen. The control mechanism should be set to have an alternative system which can be
performed to maintain smooth flight in case of any fault instrument is experienced. Efficiency
and effective flight operations are necessary to all flight occasions towards the plane and any
other program related to the flight [6].
