Project Development Report: Airline System for Getaways Travels

Week 3
In the beginning 3rd week I have scheduled to determine the goal of a project developed for
Getaways Travels which is a created system of the airline. The goal of this project is to create
and execute an online system for booking of flight tickets through an online medium that
facilitates the user in order to analyse the whole scheduling of available and upcoming
flights. The goal is to produce a website or an application making the flight booking simpler
for all passengers who mainly travel from 1 place to another. The goal even comprises of
several features which are determined and then delivered at the time of project performance
and an initial model is defined clearly for a system of airline along with defining the project
scope in running market. It even describes the procedure of its working along with the goals
regarding various methods for people attraction towards application or system developed so
as to gain maximum offered benefits. The main goal is to develop an application for airline
system that is designed to be reliable, user-friendly and user effective. The goal of the project
even determines different features possessed by airline system that delivers a satisfaction to
the customer by the fulfilment of their needs and desires. I have entirely focused on the
developed project and have made various strategies to accomplish goals decided for the
system.

Week 4
In 4th week I have scheduled to determine several things that are required to be offered for the
development of an application. The application created facilitates several users to buy online
tickets of flights and enquire about different flight schedules. These things that are offered are
scheduled in such a way in order to make it user-friendly to book flights or purchase tickets
through online medium. I have scheduled to create a user option regarding which facilitates
user to make a request demanding a certain seat and favourite choice of food based services.
The designed application must even provide its user with the facility of enquiring different
schedule and flight status. I have scheduled to create such a system that even offers cab and
hotel booking facilities so that the user can easily accommodate a hotel and a cab for its
usage providing a convenient facility for them. I have even scheduled an application
development which proposes facilities for food booking for its passenger according to their
choice which they can choose at the time of booking their tickets as it asks for the food type.
Also, I have schedules the facility for the user to view all available flights and pick or book
the one which suits them the most along with this it even provides with a feature of
determining flights departure and arrival time to users. I have even scheduled with a facility
that the user can register with the defined application so as to directly make the payment via
E-payment facility granted to registered users.

Week 5
In the 5th week, I have scheduled several tasks which describe the working scope of the entire
project along with its performance. The project's statement of work comprises of system
creation, planning and implementing it for booking made online for flight tickets that along
with an application even comprises of a database developed and associated with a proper
designing of it. The ongoing task of working in Getaways Travels is being defined and
decided entirely for this particular week. I even have isolated the Gateway Travel task in
different ways which are described as the initiation of project, scheduling, implementation,
controlling and maintaining and lastly closure. In order of these tasks initially, project
initiation occurs that discusses the entire idea of creating benefits of the project discussed.
Later the scheduling related to the goal of the project and working statement along with
offered things is being discussed which even includes the planning of the project and its
execution. The created project is being executed which assures usage in a better way. After
that, the project is executed proper maintaining and control is being done. It even visualises
the running way of this project and used to identify all associated problems within the project
that is further controlled and monitored. In the end, the project is closed on a positive note.

Week 6
In the 6th week, I have scheduled to segregate the duties that will be performed during the
project between all team members so as to accomplish the targets that are made effectively
and efficiently. The duties are divided into seven different types of members playing various
roles which are the manager of project and quality, a specialist in testing, developer, designer
of the user interface, manager of R&D and programmer. The role of manager of the project is
to coordinate with all its team members and their performing activities and further even
identifies the project associated risk. The quality manager has a role to meet all user
expectations in order to maintain the features of presented software applied in Getaways
Travels system. The specialist of testing plays a role in the better execution of the project
along with testing the efficiency and identifying bugs and resolving problems occurred in a
program. The developer enforces standard principles along with features of the department
that can better maintain quality and project speed. User interface designer generally develops
and designs different user interfaces that compare different designs of computer and its
reliability. The R&D manager generally maintains the qualitative and quantitative parts of
several projects which are later expressed to different clients. The programmers play a role in
the creation of a project in order for software development and assure that the created
software is user-friendly. In order to perform different functions, the duties are being divided
for better implementation and executing.

Week 7
In the 7th week, I have scheduled a WBS for the whole project execution that is required to be
made efficient and successful. The Gateways travel working is divided initially into 3
possible sectors for information project, planning of the project, project execution, maintain
and closure. During the project information, different processes are accounted where online
ticket booking is done within the system and setting different targets for a certain system and
even prepares project scope that consists of design system and its execution. It contains
flight-related information which is designed in such a manner that is can be easily accessible.
At a certain point. During the planning of project different processes are carried out which
mainly analyses project scope requirements along with an estimation of budget related to
project as well as stakeholder analyses. It even accounts for the complete project final budget.
During project based execution different methods are followed which includes website
design, the design of GUI, it even enables merging of database and services are then added to
the card in addition to material resources. Later maintaining and monitoring of project occurs
which includes schedule developing and resource accounting. Lastly, the process of closing
takes place which includes tickets printing, verifying clean working of the developed
software, and finally project closing.

Week 8
In 8th week I have scheduled to determine all risk that is associated with the proposed project
which generally occurs due to several team-related factors and its management. I have
examined that due to a team project different issues are arise in managing and planning a
meeting at a specific time which generally aim to gather all team members at a certain time
for fulfilling the targets. I have examined that various conflicts have occurred among
members of the team in order to reach a particular conclusion which leads to different delays
in the provided delivery. I even have examined several problems that occur because of less or
no training provided to different inexperienced staff working for the development of that
project that is completely unaware of it. I have even examined negligence in working from
team member side which then generates a lot of risk within the project the cause’s delays in
execution of the project. I have examined that the deliveries made for the complete team are
very difficult within a defined time which lacks in tightening of work that results finally in
not achieving the task desired. Even the customer choices use to change very frequently that
inheritably disturbs entire planning leading to risk. These risks must be measured and
determined so as to overcome these occurred risks.

Week 9
In 9th week I have scheduled different quality standards for the created system of Getaways
Travels that comprises of different practices, specifications and services. I have determined
the quality plan that includes tangibility, empathy, reliability, responsiveness and assurance. I
have defined the responsiveness as delivering complete details about flight booking and
timings related to the customer to make it convenient for all users. I have defined the
tangibles that deliver facilities to different visitors in all areas surrounding, counters that are
reserved, car parking and baggage based facilities. I too have acknowledged assurance of
flight timing and creates journey secure and safe. I have been looking after the flight's
departure and available time. I too have examined Getaways Travels reliability which ensures
delivered services so that they can meet all user made promises and their desires. It assures
that entire work is controlled by the staff of front based end. I too have examined an empathy
that regulates staff training in order to behave polite and calm in any particular situation.

Week 10
In a 10th week, I have scheduled to accomplish a complete analysis determining the strength,
weakness, opportunities and threats of a particular system that is Getaways Travels. The
strengths of a system are determined by the companies brand, the labour cost is less, and is
even determined by several revenue streams for Getaways Travels in identifying whether it is
good. The weakness of the system is current margins of system processing is less and
searches are present in limited number to the user. Even the services delivered by Getaways
Travels and its utilization are sometimes non-effective. The opportunities of the system
comprise of launching products that are launched newly like cab, food and hotel booking of
the users choice. Services to different flights are merged which leads to enhancement of user
services. It too provides opportunities for revenue enhancement of a current system that is
running. The threat of the system is a high level of competition, acceptance of different
currencies that a new system has to accept and high fluctuation in the desired system. The
threats even comprise of increasing health and terrorism issues.

Week 11
In the 11th week, I have scheduled different issues as well as problems that are faced during
the development of online booking tickets system named as Getaways Travels of which many
users are not aware. The issue faced are defined as unawareness within users about the stores
available nearby. Also, the developed system only has one mode of payment that is PayPal so
it must introduce other different modes that can be either E-wallet or payment made through
cards. The designed system even lacks a feedback for user page where the user can post their
experiences about their trip. Also, they can express their dissatisfaction about the trips and
can provide different suggestions for the improvement regarding the system and its
betterment. Also, this feedback page must be linked to different social media based
applications so that people can directly put their views on such pages instead of registering.
The system mainly lacks the option of regularly notifying their user who is frequent and to
new users about the recent updates and the offers that Getaways Travels are offering. Also,
problems related to the working of team members occur as not all users don’t use to attend
the meeting regularly and the problem of gathering users at a particular time comes out to be
difficult which indirectly affects the making of the decision. This problem related to team
members can lead to delays in delivery. Even the customer choices use to change very
frequently that inheritably disturbs entire planning.
