Issues identified in stakeholder management in Sydney Airport Parallel Runway Project
Sydney Airport Parallel Runway Project deals with the communities, government, and
the associate staffs at the airport. It is noticeable that the Sydney Airport consults and engages
the stakeholders much actively on a regular basis. However, few of the issues in stakeholder
management are also encountered during this project. These specific issues are discussed further:
It is noticeable that the supports received from a number of stakeholders helps in
modernizing the restrictions associated with the aviation management. However, it is
claimed that this restrictions made the aircraft 75% quieter than it was 40 years back
(Gauthier and Wooldridge 2018).
Another issue noticed in increasing concerns about the Aircraft noise. The aircraft noise
creates impacts on the associated stakeholders. The increased aviation activity, on the
other hand, will result in reduced opportunities for sharing the noise.
Thirdly, the increasing concerns about the flight path location are quite problematic for
the local community (Bundy et al. 2017). The runway requires more space, which may
create the issues with the shortage of space for the community people.
One of the major concerns identified in the in the stakeholder is the regulations and the
aviation acts imposed by the government. It is true that Sydney airport works together
with the external stakeholders by informing them about the daily updates. However, the
current regulations imposed by the government accordingly create the aviation
functionalities as well for this specific project.
The above issues are encountered by the aviation management team in Sydney Airport.
However, the continuous monitoring and making the improvements in the aviation functions.

The current technological advancements have the significant impacts on the business
functionalities. The employees associated with the aircraft management functions thus require
proper training process. It is necessary to keep focus on their technical skills and train them to
make progress in the process. The evaluation report received from the project activity monitoring
process will help in identifying the areas of improvements during the stakeholder management
practices. In addition to this, the establishment of the transparent communication is also
necessary in such context.
