The “Irreconcilable Realities”, by author Aaron M Kernre, the movie of the famous Japanese
film director Akira Kurosowa named “Rashomon” is being discussed and analyzed (Kernre).
The following essay highlights the fact that the film mentioned above does not have any
definite conclusion, which is traditionally present in the films. Generally in the conclusion of
the film, the audiences or the viewers gets to know about the actually reality or the truth of
the various characters. Akira Kurosowa`s film “Rashomon” instead deals with the reality
aspects of life with the help of his unique and different mystery story. Akira Kurosowa deals
with the concept of telling stories from the point of views of the various characters of his
movie. This in turns tends to have a major impact on the overall concept of telling the various
stories in a movie. According to the author Aaron M Kernre, the way Akira Kurosowa dealt
with his movie “Rushomon” tends to create a comment on the overall society. In addition, it
also indicates on the new way of filmmaking. Through his iconic movie, Akira Kurosowa
showed that audience that cinema can also be way of telling stories where each characters
from the cinema or movie who take part in the same story but tell the stories differently with
a different end result. Every audience tends to have a different perspective about the various
characters and story line because of the backgrounds. As a result, every audience tends to
draw a different conclusion from a movie based on their personalities. According to the
author, it was because of this reason kurosawa did not have a definite conclusion, as it would
have contradicted the main point of the whole movie and would have ruined it.
