REFLECTIVE ESSAY
Working in the media involves working with many people from different backgrounds with a variety of
skills. The concept therefore that it requires an evolving organizational structure towards the production of a
particular product. The success of the media project requires incorporating good leadership and managerial
skills and a creative team. These elements form the broader picture of the success of the media platform.
Various skills and knowledge of individuals is incorporated together to manage and develop key areas of
responsibility that will foster a company to achieve its goals. One Take Session is a project aim that to release
episodes of music and videos on a weekly basis to encourage local artists to showcase their talents. Various
digital culture, policies and adverting options have been incorporated into the project plan to enhance and
increase its chances of success.
I have intergrated various aspects such as first identifying the need in the market and being aware of
constraints such as costs that will be involved. Other elements that I have put into consideration is the required
personnel required for the success of the project, high competition in the market and develop strategies to
handle that. This project is unique in its own way, as it will successfully reach target the population who will be
able to enjoy the modern music and video content. This target population is the young generation who
according to (Buckingham & Willet 2013, p. 25), are a heavy internet and social media users. The project has a
producer, music directors, and performance whom I have incorporated in such a way that they will work
together to ensure that every week, new music and video content is produced and is made accessible to
consumers or the audience.
From personal observation, video and music content is trending at the top. This trend is evident from data
since 2016 particularly when AR, VR was made one of the ways of enriching user experience. Video and music
are one of the highest investment priority for publishers around the globe (Horst & Miller 2013, p. 33). It is
predicted that the demand for video and music will continue to increase and revenues are also projected to
grow. I have decided to not only focus on producing content as far as filming music is concerned but also
videos. This, however, requires proper management of resources that are needed for content creation and
exploration of the commercial proposition in a variety of publishers.

younger generation are embracing it. The media platform is able to reach a vast number of people through
email on their own times and it is possible to monetize it, offer product recommendation and sponsoring
opportunities. Integrating data analytics into day-to-day operation is difficult. In order to make this project, my
team will incorporate data collection skills and properly interpret them for instance how the customers view the
content if they like it, what can be made different, what do they want and how can it be delivered to them
among others. Proper data collection skills and analysis helps to get value from it that the company can use for
decision making.
It has been fun but also very challenging in developing this idea. However, through incorporating mix of
brain analytics and brain creativity, the project plan has successfully been completed. To understand the wants
of the audience, I have divided the concept into several sub-segments namely; what are the customer's needs?
What do they care about? How does the content make them feel that the content make them meet their needs
among others? (Nakamura & Chow White 2013, p. 75). Understanding these needs will help the company will
be able to meet those needs and continuously produce content that is unique in the market and will make the
company stand out among the rest.
In conclusion, media product development requires the power of setting goals, writing them down and
