individual. According to scholars, frustration is a major reason which leads to people getting
addicted to alcohol and other drugs which make them feel better about themselves and make
them forget the issues they have been facing for a particular amount of time or sometimes
lead to aggressive behavior among people ii. Looking from the perspective of this theory, the
social problem, addiction of alcohol and other drugs will be viewed.
It can be seen that frustration is a big factor in leading people to get addicted to
alcohol and other drugs which shows the interrelation of the theory and the topic. The theory
shows how frustration and aggression is normal among people however, the increase of these
emotions are detrimental which can lead to people facing various issues which can negatively
impact them and their surroundings.

any family member or their children do not get addicted to alcohol and drugs because of the
grave and negative consequences which has a negative impact on the society and on the
health of the peoplevii. The family members are scared that they might lose their children or
some family member because of drug addiction and alcohol addiction and it may end a
beautiful and nurturing family which has led the family members and parents keep a close
eye on their children and their family and take initiatives to ensure that they get the correct
treatment if someone is addicted.
Recommendation
Addiction of alcohol and other drugs have negative impacts and it is important to mitigate
the issue to have a better society and environment. In order to resolve the issue and reduce
this social problem the following measures can be taken. They are the following:
The government needs to come up with strict laws against the supply of drugs and
alcohol. This will help in reducing the supply of drugs to teenagers and also the
citizens.
Initiatives and programmes should be introduced to spread awareness about the
effects of addiction of alcohol and other drugs among people so that they are aware of
the consequences and keep in mind these consequences before trying drugs.
Health check-ups should be done in rural areas to monitor whether they are taking
drugs or alcohol and should help them in getting treated from proper rehabilitation
centers.
The government needs to ban deadly drugs that come through different countries in
Canada and should monitor effectively whether the ban is done efficiently.
There are many psychological factors that lead to the addiction of alcohol and thus
people need to be aware of it and should treat one another with respect and nicely so

that one does not feel neglected and sad which might lead to the person resorting to
drugs or alcohol for comfort.
The frustration-aggression theory shows that how frustration of a person leads to create
aggression among a person. It is not always that frustration directly leads to anger among
people but it is often seen that frustration of not being accepted, not being able to fulfill a
goal, poor behavior, demeaning attitude and hurting one’s self-respect and also bullying can
often lead to people being sad and resorting to drugs and alcohol which can lead to various
negative consequences like self-harm, suicide, violence and aggression which have further
more negative impacts. Thus, considering this theory, one of the recommendations have been
proposed here which is to be nice to other people and make people aware of the behaviors
which will make the people to be more compassionate towards others to make the society a
better place.
Conclusion
Alcohol and the use of other drugs are a growing concern because of the easy
accessibility these days which has been leading to great problems. This issue has had
negative effects on the heath of the people like disability and the extreme being the death and
has also led to various other social issues like domestic violence, burglary, theft, illegal
practices and also gruesome crimes. This is very serious as this one social issue paves way
for various social issues which are also a huge concern for the wellbeing of the environment
and the society. Thus, it is important for the government and the citizens of the country to
come up with initiatives that will help in reducing this issue and create a better society for
people.
