INTRODUCTION
There is high problem of alcoholism and other drug misuse which need to be reduced and
prevented. There are some legislation which are helpful in this process. There is discussion about
different legislation, roles and responsibility of client and workers. There is also discussion about
the 12-Step Model – Alcoholics Anonymous / Narcotics Anonymous (Casteel, (2019)).

alcohol and other drug misuse. This helps establish and maintain effective focus on alcohol and
other drug used within client (Davis, (2018)).

During detoxification there is need for worker in the sector which can be employed. This
can help to provide better care to help in the toxification process. There are different right and
responsibilities of the client is a highly required during detoxification in AOD sector. Rights and
responsibilities of client are going to be discussed further.
Rights
Right to receive high quality and safe therapy for services.
Right to get respect and consideration of their dignity during providing care.
Right to get informed about the therapy services and options along with cost in open way
without any hiding.
Right to get respected about their culture and beliefs along with to receive interpreter
services whenever required.
Right to get involve in there decision and planning of therapy.
Right to refuse therapy anytime whenever client refused to take the therapy with the help of
cancellation policy.
Right to receive therapy to respect the environment smoke free and safe within premises.
Client have the right to respective confidentiality related with their personal details
regarding condition and therapy. There should not be sharing of information without the
function of client (Duffy, (2019)).
Responsibilities
They need to provide accurate information.
Have the responsibility to inform therapist if there is receiving of another therapy services.
There is need to keep appointments and check the cancellation policy.
Responsibility to provide respect and courtesy and have to maintain the dignity.
Pay for the services especially during the time of appointment.
Responsibility to provide feedback about the services.
Workers roles and boundries
There are some workers roles and boundaries which should be followed in the process of
detoxification.
There is need to make the confidentiality which is one of the main role of the worker.
There is need to provide effective care and provide better environment.

was created to help such people who are suffering from drinking disorder. Alcoholic anonymous
refers to a place where people come and share their experience which is related with their
recovery from alcoholism along with maintaining society. It is having the concept that a
alcoholism refers to an illness which need to be changed rather than control. There is no any
requirement to get involve him alcoholics anonymous. There is only need to have the desire to
quit drinking. This is not associated with any political, organisation or institution. This is a 12-
step program which was firstly used and developed by alcoholic anonymous. this is refers to 12-
step plan to overcome from the addiction and compulsion of overuse of alcohol. This model have
the premise that people can help each other to help in leaving there habit and alcohol abuse.
There are twelve steps which are going to be discussed further.
Admitting powerlessness over addiction.
It has been believed that higher power which is in whatever form can help.
Making decisions-based turning will power and to live with better care which can be
understood.
Searching for careless moral inventory within self.
Admitted to self and God to leave the wrong nature from behaviour.
Helping ourself with personal inventory.
Taking help of higher power for removing wrong habits of consuming alcohol.

Need to admit that we got powerless over alcohol due to which life get unmanageable.
Asking higher power to remove our shortcomings.
Making direct contact to the people whom we injured and need to be amended whatever
possible.
Need to prayer and meditation for improving the process that higher power and trying to
provide the knowledge to overcome show nature of wrong.
The awakening of these steps, there is need to deliver this message to other alcoholism to
follow these 12-step to get over through the alcoholism (Scholey, (2019)).
CONCLUSION
From above discussion, it can be concluded that there is need for legislation which
provides some rights and responsibility to client for getting treatment for prevention of
alcoholism. There is also discussion about 12-Step Model – Alcoholics Anonymous /
Narcotics Anonymous.
