Research design and methodology
In every research a set of procedures and methods is evaluated so that research can be done in the
effective manner. In research methodology only research design is conducted which includes
certain things like survey design, research design and many more. The quality of the research can
be measured through the research design only as they evaluate the effective answers related to
the questions included in the assignment (Leening, et al., 2012). While doing the research of the
Aldi super market, the descriptive research design is used as design is effective in evaluating the
research study.
Descriptive research design involves many things while doing the research such as analyzing,
collecting, presenting the data in the more appropriate manner. The research is related with the
other design so this research helps in supporting the other (Guetterman, et al., 2015). While
evaluating the performance of the Aldi super market, the issues which the market has faced and
the other topics related to research in more clear aspect through this descriptive design method.
This design method used in evaluating the reach of the Aldi super market because it also
integrates with the qualitative and quantitate of data collection and also conducts less time in
evaluating the issues.
The information used in research of Aldi super market can be measured and gathered through the
data collection process. This is the important aspects of the research method which helps in
evaluating the outcomes, research questions and the test hypotheses (McCusker and Gunaydin,
2015). Basically, there are two major methods of the data collection which are qualitative and
quantitative. The accurate data of the reach is collected from the data collection and it also helps
in attaining the integrity of the research. In qualitative research the data is collected which is not
based on the numbers. In quantitative research the data is gathered or collected which is based on
the digits, numbers or in the counting forms (Duvall, 2012).
In qualitative research, the symbols, metaphors, characteristics and the description of the things
are evaluated as it helps in providing the high depth information of the human behaviour. In the
quantitative research, the statistics are particular used as it helps in analysing the data using the
mathematically way (Loi, et al., 2015). In qualitative research, the research can be understanding
in more effective way as it uses to explore the process of social interaction while in the

quantitative research, survey is conducted or the feedback has been taken from the people so the
accurate results has been conducted from this. In qualitative research, the data is generally
evaluated through the process of the interviews and observation so it is concerned with the
human perspective while the quantitative research the things are evaluated through the statistical
analysis and they are concerned about the social facts and phenomena (Zhang and Wang, 2012).
The data collection methods are essential methods used in the research methodology. In this
research project, both qualitative and quantitative data are used as this research is based on the
mixed methodology of the research. Mixed methodology of research relates with the conduction
of research that involves collecting, analyzing and integration of quantitative and qualitative
research methods. The mixed methodology is one of the best methodologies used in the research
that gives accurate results related to the research topic. The mixed methodology includes the
concept of primary data collection and secondary data collection that gives the relevant
information as per the research topic.
The primary data collection includes the questionnaire concept to discuss the aspects related to
the Aldi supermarket. The secondary data collection includes the reviews of the different
authors. The primary data is the first hand information which is not used before and the
secondary research is also used by someone else also. As in the mixed methodology of research,
qualitative and quantitative data are used. Quantitative includes the numerical data and
qualitative data includes the description related to the topic of the research. The mixed
methodology of research is beneficial in attaining better answers related to the research project.
All of the process of mixed methodology needs to followed by the organization for the accurate
and reliable results of the research.
This research adopts the questionnaire method and descriptive method to analyse the concepts of
the research topic. The research topic is all related to the Aldi supermarket and the questionnaire
include the several questions based on the consumer satisfaction and sustainability approach in
Aldi supermarket. The mixed method research is too essential for gaining the overall objectives
related to the research. Sampling method is also one of the important methods used in the
research process that relates with the primary data collection. The sampling method used to
select the individuals that give several responses based on the research topic. In this research
methodology, the 50 respondents that give several responses on the research topic. Sampling

approach is also important in the research project. The qualitative and quantitative data needs to
be reliable and accurate so that better results can be obtained. Data collection is one of the
important methods used in the research methodology without which research cannot be
completed.
Apart from the data collection, data analysis is also essential which used to analyse the data.
There is various type of analyse techniques used to analyse the proper determination of data. The
primary data analyzed by the method of statistical analysis and graphical analysis. The secondary
data analyzed by the content analysis. The collection cannot be of no use if the data cannot be
analyzed in an appropriate manner. All of the process of research methodology based on the
process of data collection and data analysis.
