Information technology is the study or uses of systems,s technology involving the
development, maintenance, storing, retrieving, and sending information etc.. It help in networks
processing and distribution of data evenly (Chase, 2016). It also defines the capabilities that is
offered to organisation by uses of computers, software applications as well as
telecommunication. In order to deliver data and provides knowledge to individual for processing
it. This assignment is based on ALDI which is an retail sector organisation founded in 1946 and
its founder are Karl Albrecht and Theo Albrecht. Below mention report is going to explain
ethical as well as social issues related to technology. Along with this, differentiation between
types of network and role of information technology in management.

Technology is necessary now a days for meeting day to day activities of business.
Without it work become more difficult as well as technology is not bad but in the manner people
and organisation are using it create some issues which may be ethical and social. Explanation of
these are as follows :-
Ethical Issues Social Issues Security – It is the term which become
major issue when technology is
implemented in ALDI. Because internet
hackers rate is increasing and they
easily use an IP (Internet Protocol)
address for accessing computers and
use data related to financial information
Communication breakdown – If
everyone in the ALDI are busy in using
information technology tools and
techniques (Dahlstrom and Bichsel,
2014). This result in breaking down
communication with each other in the
respective organisation.

practice, it is comprised of a numerous different computer systems which is connected by
physical as well as wireless connections (Marchewka, 2014). There are different type of
networks such as LAN, MAN and WAN. Difference between all these are as follows :-

The role of information technology has become very vital and integral part of
management. It help in managing several activities within ALDI in easy manner these are as
follows :-
communication: ALDI builds simple and inexpensive means of communication
between employees,suppliers and customers. It is using various communication tools
such as live chat systems, online meeting tools and video conferencing etc.. As to over
come with the barriers and build strong customer relationship.
Inventory management: ALDI tracks the quantity as well as quality of each item to
meet the demand of the consumer on time. As ALDI is connected with point of sales.
Point of sales ensure that each item is sold or creating a close loop between all other
departments.
Data management: ALDI maintain their data on servers and storage devices in form of
digital version (Mithas and et.al., 2012). As this document are easily available to
everyone in organisation. Respective enterprise store and maintain tremendous amount
of historical data as well as benefit employees to access the documents when required.
Management Information system: ALDI is using this system as it help in storing data
that can be access in future effectively. Same company track the profitability over time,
maximize return on investment as well as identify the area of improvement. As well as
track the sales on daily basis. Also allow to react immediately on low sales by boosting
the productivity and reducing the cost of its product.
Customer relationship management: Along with the information technology ALDI
improved the way and design to manage their customer relationship. ALDI is focusing
more on customer relationship management as top over come the deviation of their
product (Venkatesh,Thong and Xu, 2012). According improving the productivity or their
product and remain competitive in the market scenario.

FINDINGS
After going through this report it has been fined that IT (information technology) is
important for retail sector business. Through this they can save data of their customers as well as
employees. But it have some negative impact also in ALDI in term of social and ethical both.
CONCLUSION
From the above discussion it has been concluded that, information technology is playing
important role now a days in business environment. It help in easy communication as well as
through several network system it will be easy to manage several activities within ALDI in easy
manner.
