1. Project Justification
Problem Statement:-
A project of developing a soccer team and preparing a soccer field for Alfaisal University
is proposed. The University lacks a soccer field and there have been no initiatives from the
management to develop a soccer team. However, the students are quite enthusiastic about
developing a soccer team that can participate in inter college sports tournaments. Therefore, the
proposed projects aims in solving the problem of not having a soccer team or a soccer field in
Alfaisal University.
The proposed project is justified as successful development of a soccer team will allow
the students and the faculty members to actively participate in the sport, which will rejuvenate
their mind. The game of soccer would be a source of relaxation for both the students and the
faculty members, which in turn can enhance their learning and teaching process respectively.
The successful accomplishment of this project will be beneficial for the University as well. The
University will be able to market this opportunity in inviting sports enthusiastic students to take
admission in the Alfaisal University. Therefore, the proposed project has a good business value
for the University and is expected to provide a positive return of investment. Therefore, it can be
said that the proposed project of developing a soccer field and the soccer team is justified.
Alfaisal University campus has a significant amount of free space which can be remodeled to
develop a soccer field and therefore, the proposed project is feasible.
2. Project Goals and Objectives
2.1. Project Goals
The project intends to provide the students and the faculty members, a source of
rejuvenation out of the routine courses and classes. The project further aims in inviting sports
enthusiastic students to be a part of Alfaisal University. The project further aims in adding a new
leaf to the events and activities under the “Student Affair Committee” of the University.
The driving goal of this project is to make an optimum use of this opportunity to invite
the sports enthusiastic students to be a part of Alfaisal team.
The success of the project will be measured by collection of feedback from all the
students regarding the soccer field and the soccer team that is formed. Along with that, the
expected admission of the students to the new course in the next semester should increase by at
least 10%.
2.2. Project Objectives
The main objective that the project is expected to fulfill are indicated as follows-
To identify a suitable place within the campus to develop a soccer field
To check the fitness of the students interested to be a part of the team
To shortlist 11 main players and 3 stand by players for the soccer team
To appoint a coach for the team

The successful accomplishment of the proposed project will ensure fulfillment of the
above identified four objectives.
3. Project Methodology
The successful completion of the proposed project will require an extensive research
about the requirements of a soccer team and a soccer field. Along with that, the views of the
students and the faculty members regarding the project is to be obtained. Therefore, the proposed
project will involve collection of both primary and secondary data.
All the necessary information related to the soccer team formation and prerequisites will
be collected from the secondary sources and will be completed by the project team members.
This is the preliminary information needed to proceed with the plan.
The primary data will be collected by the method of online survey, link of which will be
shared to all the students. The survey aims in collection of opinion of the students as well as the
faculty members on the impact of having a soccer team to the regular routine of the students and
the teachers will be collected so that timetable of the game can be designed accordingly. A
project plan is to be prepared to ensure smooth execution and completion of the major project
activities.

timeline for the project is prepared. The above indicated activities are the key activities
associated with the proposed project.

The estimated timeline of the proposed project is indicated in the Gantt chart below. The
timeline illustrates the tasks to be completed and the time required for completion of each of the
activities associated with the project.
