INTRODUCTION
It is a problem solving method which is done by step and step. It used for data
processing, calculation,mathematical operation and computer operation. It used in all areas of
information technology. There are three type of algorithm: sequence, branching and loop.
Sequence is characterized with a series of step. Branching is presented by if-then. If condition is
true, output will be A, if the condition is false, output will be B. Loop is presented by while or
for. The process will end after a number of loops under the condition.
Advantages and Disadvantages
Advantages
 It is a step representation to solve a particular problem which is easy to
understand.
 It is also a definite procedure which is not dependant on other programming
language. The user who do don't know this language can easily understand.
 There is a logical sequence to each step in algorithm and it breaks the problem
into smaller parts.
 Implementation is easy in algorithm.
Disadvantages
 This is a time consuming process for the user.
 It is a conceptual based programming and is a complex process.
 If any step is missed the results are not accurate.
CONCLUSION
From the above it can be concluded that Algorithm helps to determine the specific set of
rules. A study of algorithm with respect to Artificial Intelligence is done here. Apart from that,
advantages and disadvantages of an algorithm are discussed. An algorithm solves problem very
easily by using step by step process.
