INTEGRATED BUSINESS EXPERIENCE
Introduction
Corporate Social Responsibility refers to the type of private self-regulation of businesses
at an international level. The Alibaba Group Holding Limited is a multinational conglomerate
based in, which specializes in retail services, E-commerce and technology (Kaplan and Montiel,
2017). The company believes that if a company want to achieve a sustainable development,
values of corporate social responsibility must be deeply rooted in its business model. The aim of
the report is to explore all of their business ventures that are the combination of business models
and social responsibilities.
Analysis
The boundary of the industry is continuously expanding as a result of the development of
internet technology (Galloway and Hancke, 2013). Some examples include the e-commerce of
rural products, the advancements in the manufacturing industry that is represented by smart
manufacturing, flexible production, large-scale mass production, big data and cloud computing
have created a new ecosystem of business (Hong, 2017). These new technologies are responsible
for generating new ideas, and these new ideas have created new business opportunities that have
in turn created a new ecology that has the ability to mobilize the resources the society as a whole,
aiming at total participation for common prosperity (Alijijinhui.org, 2018).
A common issue that faces is a low quality and low efficient alleviation of poverty.
Another factor contributing to this problem, is the massive amount of defects in the system for
which the traditional approach of poverty alleviation cannot solve the issue and requires a more
efficient strategy. This change is being brought by Websites like brands like Alibaba that is
bringing new ideas and strategies to alleviate poverty in the rural areas (Kwak, Zhang and Yu,

development and has promoted initiatives of mass entrepreneurship and innovation throughout
the country. This strategy has not only created jobs and increased the gross income of the
citizens, but it has also developed a vertical mobility in the society which has helped maintain
social fairness and justice.
Alibaba strives to create an open, prosperous and coordinated business environment. In
order to achieve this mission, Alibaba implements a set of rules and has built infrastructure that
guarantees that these rules are maintained. The guarantees the health and prosperity of this
environment that they have created and it promises to maintain its ecological diversity (Qin et al.
2016).
CSR activity from ALIBABA
Corporate social responsibility (CSR) contribution towards environmental sustainability
as for corporate social responsibility. It is seen that the business model across various sectors is
well managed. The progress of Alibaba around the world and in a society of China is supported
with various manufacturing, Logistic and Cloud Computing that clearly suggest that
environmental safety is not used properly (Hwang, Jung and Shin 2017). Efficiently it is noticed
that the reduction of the computing hardware that was applying segment for raising issues of
sustainability has been minimised. Greater the opportunity of an organisation greater is there a
possibility to make sure that sustainability in the environment, as well as society, prevails. The
idea of the Sustainable environment from the technological advancement in an organisation like
Alibaba is quite efficient to be as because their Enterprises reduces each and every unnecessary
that could cause immense pressure over the negative impact of Environment Degradation. Cloud
competition by the realisation of the internet at a high-speed level has evolved to a situation

where minimization of extra hardware is possible in the organisation of Alibaba in a society of
China (Lee and Tang 2017). When considering the feature of the innovative cooling system that
uses water from the lake have also resulted in a special kind of Corporate Social Responsibility
work. The utilisation of lake water to cool the machine has resulted in a situation where the
energy utilisation has decreased resulting in cutting of cost and increasing of supply to the
customer. The aspect of minimization in the cost of energy has resulted in a sustainable position
of the environment to safeguard energy and make future possibilities possible.
The organisation has also clarified of not using any product that cannot be utilised as
biodegradable. The opportunity of the organisation is located situation where the courier services
by Alibaba uses biodegradable and jute bags. The use of jute bags and other biodegradable
products have helped the organisation to ensure a network of sustainability in supply chain
management creating a value for other organisation and people in the society of China
(Alibabagroup.com 2018). The courier service used by Alibaba has also produced packaging
system of optimised algorithm where it is seen that the usage of Non-Biodegradable material has
been decreased by approximately 15 %. The improvement of such level in terms of sustainability
in an environment in China has resulted in a factor where it is seen that around 250 million
delivery boxes of courier bags were used in jute material base.
Recommendation:
The Alibaba CSR policy has included the nation’s critical social issues. There is not
necessarily any variations in the CRS policy that are essential to make. Several problems are
undertaken, and considering the population of the nation, the company would need to invest
more attention and resources. There are appreciating qualities in the policy that are worthy of
praise. It is a determined and highly ambitious goal that the company wants to achieve. However,

it is not an easy way to carry out the principle as it demands high commitments. Most of all, it is
the contribution from the employees that would be required most. The company should ensure
the policy is carried out well since it has an enormous commitment towards the society and
environment. one of the recommendation would be incorporating principles that would be for the
benefits of women, elderly and physically disabled by innovating ways for their income.
Conclusion
A better regulation in terms of greener future has been undertaken by organisations like
Alibaba on the belt of China development. The management team of Alibaba has considered the
request of the Government of China and have utilised less amount of Non-Biodegradable
products. The utilisation of coal-related fuels and other fossil fuels have also presented a positive
aspect towards sustainability in the environment.
