 The elder indigenous population
do not receive proper medical
assistance like the other citizens
of Australia do.

get the social security
 It is seen that the federal
government of Australia has
shown some major reluctance in
providing the indigenous
population with the advanced
education and not only that, it is
not rare that an individual from
indigenous background has had
no education in the entire life.

Medical condition
 In most cases the
aboriginal and Torres
islanders do not get
medical support from
the government of the
nation and they have no
medical awareness.
 This leads to significant
rise in getting exposed
towards various
diseases including eye
and diabetes related
medical conditions

Medical conditions
 The aboriginal population in the
early 40s were used to exploited
like they were slaves and were
mistreated immensely.
 Naturally the British government
back then did not care to
provide them facilities like the
other people of the land used to
get
 After the departure of the British
people, the situation of the
aboriginal people did not
improved.
 The present government is also
reluctant to do something for
them

Medical conditions
 As the aboriginal people
has very low
awareness regarding
medical issues,
uncontrolled smoking,
unhygienic lifestyle
exposes them towards
numbers of diseases
related to heart, liver,
eyes and kidney.
Diabetes is seen as a
major threat to their life
due to their lifestyle.

Poverty and child abuse
 From various media
coverings we get to
know about the rate of
child abuse the children
of the indigenous
community of Australia
have to go through.
 It can be seen that as
they are not adequately
employed, poverty is
one the main reason
behind their plight.

Social issues and role of
media
 Main stream media is not always
trustworthy as their
presentation of news is
sometimes biased.
 The local media of Australia
often over represent the
indigenous population in
criminal justice system and
under represent them in political
affairs.
 Authors raise their voices for
indigenous people, but that
could have been more.
 The target audience of the
mainstream media are the
individuals of age group 25 to
65 years .
