INTRODUCTION
Alzheimer disease is mainly found in older age people which slowly destroy memory and
thinking skills and have ability to carry out the simple task become hard for individuals. This
kind of diseases is most common cause of dementia among the older adults eventually this
disease is named after Dr. Alois Alzheimer. There are different symptoms which include
memory loss, language problem and unpredictable behaviour (Terraccian and Sutin 2019). The
present report is based upon George who is an 81 year old man suffering from Alzheimer disease
and his wife Sybil have died five years ago. Further the report discussed about the cure and the
skills to be used in order to understand the health issue and process of recovery in a well define
manner.
Symptoms of Alzheimer
Alzheimer is a disease which slow the minds and loss of memory occur. In the initial
stage people have hard time to remembering recent events and they face trouble in focusing the
and what they do not remember the past things very clearly. Along with this people feel very
confused and frustrated epically at nights and also have dramatic mood swing at the different
stages (Chan and et., al., 2019). They in disconnected with the people, and get loss easily with
the other people. The report is based on George an 81 year old man who suffers from the
Alzheimer Disease. He has two children David and Alyson and eight grandchildren. The concern
was raised when George was found wandering and roaming around home in the early hours of
the morning. He was unable to find his way back in his pyjamas and slipper.
George had previously worked as vet, his passion for animals which has wide range of
pets like dogs and cats and his wife Sybil take care of those animals. George is very active and
was very interactive with the other people. There are different kinds of symptoms such they feel
difficulty in solving the problem and also help in making do not focus on problem. The another
symptom is memory loss and at the early stage people get to forget everything very quickly.
Other include forgetting of important dates and events asking for the same question over and
over. George has the fluctuating period of lucidity as well as confusion which become
extremely distressed when he his more aware of his deteriorating mode. There are different stage
in which disease which help people to understand it better. In the case of George the Alzimer is
on the second stage which as he face extremely difficult in remembering things and forget

everything. At this, delusions such as believing things are true and feeling paranoid and
suspicious about family members.
Skills to be implemented to overcome these diseases
There are different kind of medicines which can be used by Alzheimer disease to help
temporarily to improve some symptoms (Manniche and et., al., 2019). George should be taken
under Nursing treatment which help in incurable and degenerative character of the illness. Very
often the treatment is provided by the close family members and the patients under goes which
intensive care in the well define manner. Here some of the skills which must be used under the
treatment of Alzheimer which is explain down below:
Cognitive rehabilitation: The technique involves working with the trained professional,
such as occupational therapist, and relative or friends help in achieving the personal goal which
include learning to use mobile phone and day to day activities (Novak and et., al., 2019). Further
this help in reducing the symptoms and disease which help in making decision for George. The
cognitive rehabilitation work by getting the work done which is helpful in making effective
decisions of the betterment and growth. This help patient to be more comfortable and it is
essential to remain with the people and help in improving the case which aid the people to
become more effective to overcome the disease. There some medicines which should be taken
care of such as Clexa, Remeron and Zoloft. Experts agree that medicines to treat these behaviour
problems should be used only after other strategies which is used to cure the disease.
Stimulation therapy: In the recent years it has been analysed that there has been
increase in the recognition and use of psychological intervention for the dementia. The
stimulation therapy help in recovering the patient in the limited time frame (McGough and et.,
al., 2019). Stimulation therapy is a brief group of treatment for the people with the mild to
moderate dementia which is based upon the theoretical concept of reality orientation as well as
cognitive stimulation. In the case George it is essential to get this therapy as this involves 14
steps session which runs twice in a week.
Create safe support environment: Adapting the living situation to needs of a person
with Alzheimer disease is the essential part of the treatment. For George it is crucial that his son
and grand children take care of him which provide the patient moral support. George like cats
and dogs which can be beneficial for curing the decease in the shorter time span. Along with
George must keep keys, wallet and phone at home so it does not get lost somewhere. This is

crucial to keep the medication in the secure location and use daily checklist to keep track of
medicines. There must be regular appointment should be taken by the family to reduce the effect
of Alzheimer during the passage of time(Shen and et., al.,2019).
CONCLUSON
From the above stated report this has been identified that stimulation therapy help in
improving the cognitive function of the individuals. This is also important to have friends and
family near the patient as this aid in providing moral support during the treatment. Apart from
this proper medication and medicine should given on time in order to reduce the effect of
Alzheimer up to some extent.
