INTRODUCTION
Communication is a very important factor in present business scenario. Business
communication is a manner in which information is sharing among people within and outside the
firm for commercial benefit (Addams and Allred, 2015). Thus, it enhances the constant and
regular flow of communication. Organisation undertaken in this report is Amazon which was
established and commenced its operations from year 1994 and deals in cloud computing and e
commerce industry. This report will explain different types of business information. It will also
focus on evaluation of different types of business information and its communication. The last
part of the report will analyse the ethical consideration in relation to the use of business
information.
TASK1
P1. Different types of business information
In Amazon, as it is an e commerce industry, there is use of wide range of communication
methods through which the company can operate more effectively and efficiently. This is
because communication plays a vital role in sharing business informations. The following are the
different types of business information which are discussed below:
Verbal information: In this, the sharing of information is done by speech where the
message is communicated through oral words and is treated as the best way to
communicate because of face to face interaction. This quickly responds to the messages
and solution to the problem is also given rapidly (Bovée, Thill and Raina, 2016). In
Amazon, the employers are the source from where the information is generated. The
purpose verbal information for the company is to eliminate the problems and make
connections with more and more people.
Written information: This type of information is required to be communicated through
writing words. It is very crucial in present business scenario and does not requires the
personal or face to face contact. In Amazon, this type of information will be presented
and originated from various e-mail, memo, bulletin, employee manuals, instance
messages, etc. The purpose of this is to enable the individuals to read the information or
content prior to any action.

On screen information: Under this, the business information is presented on the screen
of the computer or television which is the combination of various texts, graphical
representation, charts and diagrams (Cardon and Marshall, 2015). In Amazon, this
information will originate in form of LCD or project screens which will be easily catch
by the employees. The purpose of this information is that people are focussed towards the
power point presentation and prepares them in advance for the future course of actions.
Multi media information: Multi media is the combination of two or more types of
media which are combined together in a single package. It is the combination of video,
sound, animation, pictures and text (Coombs, 2015). The purpose of this is to present the
information in a unique manner in Amazon where the information will be generated from
different social networking sites.
Web based information: As in present business world, the companies requires immense
informations by using internet and such content is called web based information. In
Amazon, such information will be derived from internet, websites, etc. The purpose of
this is to provide the user with ample of information in just a click. Apart from this, the
information obtained are simpler and easier to explain.

The existing products and services also requires regular communication. This is because
to make people remind that they still exist. When time passes, then the company aims to make

products of the Amazon, then it requires proper channel to be communicated to the customers.

to the laws and regulations which protects the information from being misused. Whereas ethical
issues are in relation to the right and wrong which involves various consideration to be taken into
account and protect the information from any unethical practice.
Legal issues
They are the legislation which are to be considered for protecting the business
information and they are discussed below:
Data Protection Act 1998: This act is concerned with the fact that there are numerous
informations which are collected by the Amazon including the personal information of
the customers and employees as well. The act is held accountable for protecting the
information from being misused. It ensures that business information which is gathered
by the company is obtained in fair manner and is used only for the purpose when it is
required. The information is not kept with the company for longer period of time and is
accurate and updated.
Freedom of information act 2000: This act is concerned with rendering the individuals
and organisation with the right to request information which is held by the public. And it

be provided within the 20 working days (Thomas and Stephens, 2015).
Computer misuse act 1990: This legislation in UK is in relation to protect the
information from various activities that will make use of computers and involves hacking
into other people software, misusing the software and assisting helping aid for the person

Ethical issues
They are the morale principles which are accepted by all the organisations in order to
differentiate between right and wrong. In the Amazon, it will make of use of electronic mail,
internet, whistle blowing, organisational policies, information ownership, etc. All this will be
bound with the ethical code of conduct in Amazon and is essential to take into account for the
safety and security of the information (Veltsos, 2017).

Business information is a crucial part of an organization, this needs to be well captured
and maintained by the organization in order to avoid mishandling of information and for security
purposes. The various operational issues may arises in amazon organization such as:
Security of information: This refers to the security from unauthorised and unexpected
access of unknowns. Amazon's manager should make a list of people who can look after
the information and that should be not revealed in any case by the authorised people. The
IT department of an administration usually handles these security activities. Information
is very important for the organization because that contains useful data of the company,
so that should be in the right hands otherwise fraudulent activities may arise.
Backups: Backups of important information keeps the data safe in case of any software
hacking. Amazon timely take backup of the stored data to avoid the physical data loss in
case of processing problem arises at the time of software updates. Backup process in easy
to follow by the organizations.
Health and safety: This is an important operational issue which should be prioritised.
Health and safety of the employees is really important to carry on the organizational task
effectively and efficiently. Amazon provides safety measures to its employees such an

with its potential customers to maximise the profit and sells of the organization in order to
achieve success in the business. In today's era, every company uses electronic and non electronic
ways to communicate with people for the marketing purposes.
Electronic ways of communication: This communication is basically known for speedy
connection. The components of Electronic communication are emails, phone calls, video
conferencing, social media and so on. Amazon uses fast ways to communicate and to
promote the products and services such as Amazon prime video. The company promoted
this app through various ways like advertising the application on you tube, Instagram,
pop ups and twitter. These are the best ways to communicate with youngsters, they are
more focused to the social media these days rather than newspapers and magazines. Non-
electronic ways of communication: It is a way to communicate and promote the
services to the people through word of mouth, magazines, news papers and hoardings.
Amazon focuses on each segment of the economy, non electronic ways are the best
means to be in contact with aged people who avoids the excessive use of social media
tools. The company promote new products through newspaper advertisements and
magazines to make its consumers aware about the growth and new developments.
