Amazon is one of the largest techno logical company that is situated in America. Jeff
Bezos is the founder of the company. The main focus of the Company is e-commerce, digital
streaming, cloud computing, artificial Intelligence, etc. It holds a position among the top
technological company in the world (Amazon, 2015). The technological innovation is one of the
factor for Amazon’s prosper. The incorporation of all the latest technologies are the key to its
success. The uses all the latest systems such as the relational database system for maintaining
their records.
Use of database
Amazon uses the relational database services, this services runs on the cloud. This was
taken by the company to make all the operations easy and effective. The other utilization of this
services is that it allows the process of database software patching, recovery of database, backing
up of the database any many. All the process are carried out automatically (Mathew & Varia,
2014). As amazon is the largest e-commerce website, it gathers a huge number of customer
details, product detain, transaction detail, employee detail and many other. All these information
are kept in various databases available to Amazon.
People benefiting from database
The presence of the database is benefitting the employees working in the backend on the
website. The generation of the huge number of data against each customer, their account on the
websites, their transaction, their choices of items, the product details, the shipment details of the
products, employee details working for the company, the dealings of the company and all the
inventory operation are kept by the virtue of AWS in several databases (Newcombe et al.,

20158). Hence, the people working are benefited due to the presence of database which eases the
management system of information.
Shortcomings of database
As the presence of the database is a huge benefit to the company for making the
management of the information easy, however, the shortcomings are important to consider too.
The database are complex systems as well as time consuming operations. The installation cost of
the system is high with the involvement of software and hardware (Obrutsky, 2016). The failing
or damage of the system is of high chance. As database is totally based on online platform the
chance of threats and attacks by hackers are always present.

As a manager of business the present of the database is the company is the best. The
availability of AWS makes all the operation across the company smooth and efficient. The use of
the technology to sort all the responsibility around the company is possible and keeping every
information updated.
Effective use of Database Technology
In my area of job the use of database technology will improve the data sharing ways as
well as provide high security to the data available. The system will improve the solution
providing facility and allow me to take decisions at greater pace. It will eventually faster the rate
of operations and allow integration smoothly. The effective use of the management tool present
in this technology will minimize the risk of data inconsistency, the transaction of the business
will be tracked thoroughly and analysis of operations and decision will be easy with the
availability of effective management system to the company.
