competitiveness”
It has been evaluated that employee engagement plays a great role in enhancing productivity and
more competitiveness. If there is employee engagement in organization then it can be easy to
achieve goals and objectives in effective manner. In this paper discussion will be made on the
Amazon Company where there is employee engagement and just because of this it can be easy
for accomplishing their objectives in competitive market (Albrecht et al., 2015).
There are four strategies which are considered by company to enhance employee engagement.
The strategies that were implemented by company are related to Training and development,
Work and life balance, Open channel of communication and Reward and Recognition programs.
First strategy is related to training and development which is considered as one of essential
strategies one which company has given emphasis. By giving training to employee’s knowledge
and skills of employees enhances which increases and boost morale. It has been evaluated that
through training employee’s interest towards activities or operations enhances and they engage
themselves more in conducting or completing activities of company (Brewster, Chung and
Sparrow, 2016). Engagement of employees takes place through training as they learn new skills
and knowledge that helps to give maximum efforts towards task which are assigned to
employees. The company provides in house training to employees so that they can feel confident
when they do their task. Employee engagement can be enhanced easily with help of training. The
employer should focus on fostering growth so that employees can give their best (Bratton and
Gold, 2017). By enhancing in house training company has enhanced internal rotational programs
and commits workers towards company. If feeling arises in employees then it can be easy for
them to increase motivation level and also it helps company to be successful (Bakker and
Albrecht, 2018). Amazon focused on giving proper training by taking into consideration various
experts and it has been analyzed that those experts give proper knowledge to employees so that
they can train themselves in proper way. This is considered as one of effective strategy that is
considered by company to enhance employee engagement in workplace. Training is best method
that helps to motivate and enhance confidence level of employees towards assigned activities.

Next strategy that is considered by the company is related to work and life balance. This is one
of the major aspects that are considered to enhance the employee engagement in the workplace.
Employee’s needs for proper work life balance so that their productivity level can be enhanced.
It has been evaluated that as an employer it is the duty to focus on the holistic approach for
proper welfare of employees. If there is proper arrangement of work it can be easy for the
company to enhance engagement of the employees and this is the step which is considered by
company to that employees can feel comfortable at the time of conducting their own activities in
workplace (Kumar and Pansari, 2016). Work arrangements also focus on considering flexible
hours and also it offers part time jobs to employees. Amazon emphasize on giving proper work
life balance so that employees engagement can take place in a proper manner. This strategy is
beneficial for employees and also for the company. Amazon implemented this strategy which is
beneficial as it has enhanced profits.
Another strategy is related to open channels of communication. There should be proper
communication channel in organization and Amazon has focused on maintaining proper
communication channel so that employee engagement can take place in an effective manner. It is
important for organization to ensure that employees can communicate easily so that proper
direction and guidance can be given. Mission and vision of organization is also important as it
helps to consider the activities of the company in the ethical manner. Communication also helps
to achieve regular employee appraisal as it helps to give feedback and also allows permission to
focus on the concerns with a proper level of expectations. By effective discussion of goals
employee engagement can take place in a proper way.
The last strategy is related with reward and recognition programs. In this strategy it has been
seen that formal mechanism is considered for analyzing and rewarding employees. The emphasis
is given on rewarding employees by focusing on the entire performance. Amazon considers this
strategy to engage the employees towards the activities. If the employees are giving good
performance then it is important to give good performance so that they can give best outcome.
This is one of the effective strategies that can help the company to enhance the employee
engagement towards activities of the company or towards the entire operations of the
organization. Amazon achieved various positive outcomes that helped to achieve growth and
also motivate employees towards achieving goals and objectives in a proper manner.

If there is employee engagement in the company then it can beneficial for the company and also
for the employees. Amazon has achieved growth and success which has given positive results on
the entire operations. The company can also retain and recruit employees if there proper
strategies considered by the company. Also the company attracts new and qualified employees
through proper employee engagement and it has been evaluated that through this innovation can
also take in a proper manner. There is also proper connection between on the innovation and
employee engagement. Profitability is also one of the benefits that help the organization to
enhance then efficiency of the employees (Armstrong and Taylor, 2014).
In Amazon it has been evaluated that company has achieved growth just because of there is
employee engagement in the workplace. When employee’s engagement enhances it has been
evaluated that employee’s loyalty takes place. To evaluate the loyalty of the customers it has
been evaluated that customer engagement is the major aspect that can help to give motivation
and enhance the satisfaction level of the employees who are working in the company. Loyalty
plays a great role in giving focus on the operations of the company and it is the major motivation
factor (Memon, Salleh and Baharom, 2016).
So, by analyzing the paper it has been concluded that Amazon focuses on various strategies like
reward and recognition and also on training and development. These strategies help the
company to achieve success and also give positive impact on the employees who are conducting
routine activities in the workplace. Through employee engagement it has been evaluated that
company can enhance profit ratio and also can achieve goals and objectives by enhancing the
satisfaction level of employees. Therefore, it is important to focus on employee engagement so
that performance of employees can be improved.
