Amazon is a global technology company based in United States and is one of the market
leaders in e-commerce, cloud computing, artificial intelligence and digital streaming.
Amazon is among the Big Four of Technology Company. The aim of report is to identify all
types of stakeholders and their expectations and what is said by Amazon in their website,
annual reports, advertising and other documentation which exhibits how or what Amazon is
doing to meet those commitments.
The various types of stakeholders for Amazon and the expectations
Owners or shareholders: The Owners or the shareholders includes individuals owns the
organizations to various degrees and their expectations are mainly focused towards the
profitability of the business as well as its performance. The share values, goodwill, market
capture and leadership position can also be some of the expectations that can be mapped to
the owner’s r shareholders (Tan & Carrillo, 2017).
Management (Board of Directors and Top level management): the management and Board of
Directors are key internal stakeholders whose decisions influences the strategic objectives
and direction sof the businesses. Their expectations includes the growth and diversity of
business and maximizing the profitability and benefit for the stakeholders and shareholders.
Employees: The employees includes the salaried as well as waged workers within the
organization and form an integral part of the organizational culture of Amazon (Laudon &
Traver, 2016). The employees form the key internal stakeholders of the organization and their
expectations can be varied such as fair wages, healthy working condition, health benefits,
scope of professional growth and development and career advancements.
Suppliers: Suppliers are the entities that form a key external stakeholder of the organization
who provides Amazon with the necessary raw materials and services required for the

production and delivery of the finished merchandises. Their expectation includes fair trade,
tax benefits and commitment as well as profitability from the business.
Customers: The Corporate Social Responsibility approaches that are utilized by Amazon
gives maximum focus on customers as the most vital external stakeholder group. The main
expectation of the customers includes a quality in service and fair pricing along with the
providence of a diverse product and service line (Akter et al., 2016).
Financial institutions: This includes the banks who provide essential financial support to
Amazon and are a part of the external stakeholder group. The interests of the bank mainly lie
within the ability of the organization to repay its loans and provide a financial sustenance to
the banks.
Community: The community includes the local as well as the global social groups within
which the organization operates both in terms of its physical as well as virtual presence and
their expectations are mainly towards the goodwill and image of the organization and the
commitment of the organization towards helping the social causes relevant in those
communities (Ritala et al., 2018).

shareholders as a collective are given a high focus within the mission, vision and aim of the
organization. Such views or values can be seen within Amazon’s website with its explicit

statements and recruitment policies all have a common outline of highlighting these values to
imply its importance.
