INTRODUCTION
The current research report aims to include a reflection as well as review of the
personal development plan being prepared earlier in this module. The focus will be made on
amending the existing PDP for the purpose of meeting out the future developmental
requirements. In addition to this, it will also be going to include a reflection after the
submission of the personal development plan and will involve development of an amended
PDP based on that.
ASSESSMENT CRITERION – 3.3
Reviewing and reflecting in regards with the personal development plan is being
considered as the most important activity as it helps in determining the gaps and flaws in the
existing development plan being developed and make changes based on that for creating new
personal development plan (PDP) (Kryscynski and et.al, 2018). Earlier, I have created a
developmental plan which clearly established my own developmental requirements. I have
highlighted different goals that I wanted to achieve such as becoming a role model, learning
in regards with the data protection act, facilitating different conversations, learning ways of
addressing employment laws and so forth. The options that were most suitable for meeting
these requirements of professional development was also used by me. All these processes,
resources and activities being used by me because I believed that these all will support me to
think in regards with my own learning, achievements a well as performance and will help in
planning my social, educational, personal as well as career advancement. However, I was not
able to attain the desired goals as per my anticipations and thus, there is a requirement to
make changes in the previously developed personal development plan.
During the whole course of this module of developing professional practice, I came to
know about the significance of the professional development plan in setting out the
professional requirements. I learned that creating PDP by self is nothing but building the self
as a brand of recruitment consultancy. This is a long-term goal objective which initiates with
recognizing as an authority figure such as developing association with the entities like CIPD.
Since, I have developed the plan within the personal development plan, there are some of the
modifications which I have witnessed happening in my career, learning as well as social areas
(Koda, 2018). For illustration, I have noted that I have enhanced in a number of fields which I
have highlighted in my last PDP. Firstly, I was able to learn different ways of addressing the
employment law issues at work right from recruitment, TUPE and redundancy. Secondly, I
was also successful in grasping knowledge and understanding in relation with the Data

Protection Act and the manners min which it can influence me as a human resource
professional. Thirdly, the last PDP being developed by me also supported me in learning one
more field of human resource that is payroll like ADP. Overall, it can be said that the
personal development plan being prepared by me was quite successful and helpful enough in
achieving by learning goals. I also learned how to remain confident and initiating the day
without getting anxious about anything. Consequently, it can be said that with this earlier
plan, I worked hard to perfect all my skills, strengths and flaws and corrected my weaknesses
and made that as my strong points. I have utilized the opportunities available in front of me
and avoided any sort of negative influence being posed by different threats (Bolton, 2019).
Nevertheless, still I some of the goals being pointed out in the previous professional
development plan was unmet and I need to work even harder and plan different activities for
achieving the same. the very first thing which I want to amend in the previous PDP is
activities related to goal of becoming a role model for colleagues and champion positive
behaviours. Other than this, it is also crucial on my part to learn better ways of facilitating
conversation with other individual as still I am not able to do this when the problem or thing
that needs to be conversed is difficult. Therefore, there is a requirement to make changes in
the previously developed personal development plan. The amended personal and professional
development plan is being elaborated below:

Subsequent from the beginning of this course, I have been making continuous and
professional development plan for the things that I wanted to learn for advancing my career
in the field of human resource profession. From the past several months I have been making
efforts to make improvement in my knowledge, skills, abilities and understanding in relation
with different aspects related to human resource such as employment laws, employee
relation, communication skills, leadership skills, learning to be more confident, data
protection act, handling employee conflicts and issues and so forth (Power, 2014). I have also
attended different training programs, workshops, seminars and other activities which has
substantially supported me learning many things in relation with profession of human
resource. I conducted self-assessment utilizing learning and development for the purpose of
determining ongoing professional growth requirements.

The assessment of the professional development plan suggests that there are some of
the areas which still needs to be improved such as employee relation, insight in relation with
various employment laws for resolving issues at work and leading HR. I have further realized
that there are certain set of skills along with the knowledge which I am still in a need to
develop and comprehend of this specified area. Therefore, for the purpose of overcoming the
same, I require to create strategies and must take charge of the operations. For becoming a
good leader and role model and leading HR, I always remain proactive. In the same way, I
am now in a position to handle all the external factors successfully which might influence the
firm and me. In addition to this, in the perspectives of employee relation, I am required to
work on managing improvement in my skills and capabilities of managing conflicts (Beltrán-
Martín and Bou-Llusar, 2018). Even though, with the previous personal development plan
being developed, my employees are trusting me and listening to me and thus, now I am in a
position to lead in any business corporations. It can also be stated here, that the amended PDP
which was developed six months ago was quite beneficial for me and has determined most of
the key areas. This has also supported me a lot for my future endeavours.
Moving further, during this evaluation and reviewing process, I have successful
determined the strong points of the professional development plan and my own learning and
development, but it is not easy to highlight some of the areas on which I am not in a position
to work on. Thus, for doing this, I took the support of the professional map wherein I have
reviewed all the anticipated knowledge, skills along with the behaviour. Further, I took a
comparison with myself. In addition to this, I have also utilized my intuition and in some
instance considered the opinion of others for comprehending the subject areas where I am
excellent and the areas which I am quite weak. On this note, I have realized that there are
some areas on which I am unbale to work or I am quite weak at such as working with the
colleagues and team leaders and actively participating in giving insight when developing any
strategy. I will take all this in a positive manner and will make efforts to work on the
identified weak points (Maurer and London, 2018). Other than this, I have also
comprehended that I can make improvement in my skills on developing amended
professional development plan with improved activities, resources and goals. All these skills
being identified above can be gained and obtained from reading books, work experience,
training as well as seminars and through development of professional development plan
