In the United States of America, participation in the voting process is considered as the
prominent part of the political process. This is one of the primary processes of participating in
national politics in the USA. It is one of the unique political policies that allow people’s views to
be represented well in political matters. Voting is important in the USA because it is part of
national democracy. It allows people to elect a leader of their interest. This is one way of making
people exercise their rights and select the leader according to their interests and personal
ambitions. Voting is considered as the keystone part of democracy in the USA and there that is
why it is done freely and willings by all people. Voting is a better way to determine which leader
is liked by people and who can lead people in the USA (Blais, 2019). It is one of the important
political exercises that require all people to participate in the selection of their leaders and
therefore it is considered to be one of the most important in the USA. Based on the information
drawn from the book “WE THE PEOPLE” by Thomas Patterson, voting is an important part of
the political race as it enhances protection of civil rights, enables social advancements and liberal
justice among the citizens in the USA. It is a symbol of showing that citizens are allowed to
make their own decisions regarding how they would wish to be led politically. Moreover, voting
is part of democracy and it shows how the USA keen on the provision of fairness and rights to its
citizens (Thomas, 2019). Voting in America is also important because it shows the level of
critical thinking in American citizens. This is based on factors they consider when voting for a
certain leader. Voting is a personal decision and therefore depending on the outcomes of voting,
the developments in America exist. Voting is part of selecting the leader who will serve people
according to their will and will of the constitution. It is national identity and everyone has the

right to participate in a voting exercise in America provided he/she has all relevant documents
and rights to do so.
Question #2: What are the two major political parties in the United States? Explain how
these political parties are different or have different viewpoints?
The two major political parties in the USA are the Democratic Party and the Republican
Party. These two political parties in the United Stated of America have different opinions and
viewpoints towards how America should be led but all the same, they are the major and
historically old political parties in America all aiming to serve the people of America. One
different viewpoint between these two parties is that in the Democratic Party it focuses on liberal
and left learning while the Republican Party advocated for conservation for anti-federation.
Republican Party supports the view of having a smaller government with much of the services
provided by the private entities within a free market. Additionally this party advocate for the
literal constitution interpretation. On the other hand, the Democratic Party differs from the
Republican Party in that it advocates for a large government that will serve the need of the
people extensively without the dependence of the private sector. This party prefers extensive
regular services delivery such as free medical care to all citizens freely. Economically, the
Republican Party states that the government should impose less tax and also should have less
expenditure (McDonald, 2018). It advocates for the cut balance should be given priority in
budgeting. It views that those earning a high income should have some incentive for invests
inform of the credits. The party also states that charity work should be the responsibility of
everyone in America. On the other hand, the democratic party focus on liberal in which the
government is supposed to provide for the needs of the less fortunate and needy citizens. Some
of the services advocated by the part to be given the priority are the health care services. It

suggests that the government should increase the taxes if possible to make sure it has enough
resources to deliver to less fortunate groups (Levinson, 2019). According to the Democratic
Party and contrary to the Republican Party, those earning high incomes should be imposed high
taxes so that the money could be used to support the other less fortunate groups in the country.
These two parties have been in major differences in political views and therefore it is the
responsibility of the citizens to determine their party of interest.
