Section -1
Question – 2
Ans - The interest groups are referred to the groups that have a number of persons whose
interests are common in the sense that they often use those interests as the basis of their
activities and actions. Interest groups in the United States of America influence the public
policies by influencing the common people with similar concerns to report those concerns to
the government officials. The interests may differ from one interest group to another and
might be caused on a number of topics (Mayhew, 2017).
Interest groups are known to play a very important role in the development of the
political as well as the social systems of the country. The activities taken by the interest
groups creates obligations for the Government officials to fulfil those demands and the needs
of the people of America. Therefore, it is truly said that the interest groups of America are
known to influence the public policies by presenting the common needs and the demands of
the publics to the audiences so that those demands can be met by the Government.
Question – 3
Ans – It can be said that the political parties in America have come a long way since the
times they have first been formed. The role and the place of the political parties in the country
have changed a lot in the past two centuries. When the party system began in the year 1820’s,
it first of all, wanted to integrate the policies of democracy in the system of the party so that it
could fulfil the needs and the demands of the people of the country. In the years that passed,
the Progressives wanted to reduce the power of the political parties in the country by certain
reform movements in the 20th and the 21st centuries.
As stated by Noel (2014), although incidents like the World Wars, the Cold War as
well as the Great Depression have changed a lot in the political scenario of the country, the

political parties, the balance of the power of the parties has changed a lot in the last two
centuries of the political parties in America. But it can be said that in the present times, the
role of the political parties in the country has remained the same as it was before i.e.
recruiting, selecting and sponsoring the candidates in the country.
Question -4
Ans - The minor parties, also known as the Third Parties in the United States of America
have always played an important role in the history of the country. They do not generally
elect a representative, but their main aims are to promote specific ideas such as
environmental protection, well-being of the people etc. Sometimes, they are also known to
steal the votes for other parties to win in the elections themselves (Mayhew, 2017). It is
exactly for these reasons that the minor parties in the country have been playing an important
role in helping the other parties to win in the elections.
Section – 2
Question – 6
Ans - It is often seen that the people of America are blaming the President of the country
when the economy of the country is low and at the same time, praising the President when the
economy of the country is high. Although the people blame the President for this, it should be
noted that the President is not to be blamed for such problems with the economy. As stated by
Noel (2014), this is because the economy of a country depends on the amount of money that
the people of the country want to spend. The President have no control on such matters.
As stated by Mayhew (2017), moreover, the President cannot fix the fiscal stimulus of
the country and needs the help of the Congress for changing the policies of the tax in the
countries. This is another reason why the countrymen should not be blaming or praising the
President of the country for the rise and fall of the economy of the country.

Question -7
Ans - The President and the Congress play a very important role in producing the federal
budget of the country in every year. First, the President submits a proposal of the annual
budget to the Congress. Then the House and the Senate Budget Committees make a report of
the annual Budget resolution that was submitted to them by the President (Wilson, 2017).
Finally, the Budget Committees are requiring to present the final Budget Resolution for the
consideration by the Full and the House before April 1st of every year in the country.
