Question 1:
There were many issues faced by the colonists as such during the said revolutionary war. As
people know these colonists were actually the ones who were too loyal to the British. This
became a hardship for the other colonists as according to a few, if the war was won by the
colonists, there would have been a huge chaos while the others relied upon the Great Britain
for their respective jobs (Elster).
Another aspect that prevented growth of colonial economy was the scarcity of supplies.
These people on day to day basis were not able to comply with the market demand and there
was a constant shortage of approximately all the basic amenities especially the ones such as
the blankets or even food and also the arms or weapons used then. There was also a scarcity
of good soldiers as they did not have enough. There was also a case where people who were
soldiers never renewed their said term of being a soldier since, the pay was quite low and in
fact they were also not trained enough for the job (Bradley).
First of all, all the acts such as the Sugar Act, Stamp Act, currency Act and Quartering Act all
of these implied extra taxes on everything. Such as, according to the Stamp Act all the
documents were to be stamped; now the burden was to be wholly borne by the then colonists.
These colonists were lacking in so many ways and they also did not have enough money to
serve basic necessities but for everything, now they had to pay extra taxes on everything
(McCurdy).
For their support, Native Americans came to the rescue and provided what was necessary.
Countries of France and Spain also assisted colonialists to revolt against the British. But later,
Native Americans switched sides and aligned with the British.

Question 2:
The Confederation Articles was drafted in the year 1777 by the Continental Congress once
the United States got independent from the reign of Great Britain. This was done in order to
constitute a unified spectrum by which all the independent states could work, hence it came
into existence (Rakove).
Later, it was found that Articles had many drawbacks and was not enough as well as required
many amendments. Since, Great Britain had been such a powerful federal power in United
States, US was quite conscious of giving any kind of extreme power to any federal authority,
they did not want to provide too much power to any particular authority (Cleve and William).
The main reason behind the failure of the Articles of Confederation was its weakness. There
was no regulatory power that would regulate the laws, the federal government under this had
no power. There was failure of payment on Continental Congress’s part which they borrowed
in order to properly fight the war or revolution as such. In fact there was no economic power
as well with the congress to help the nation as there was nothing left of people because of the
war (Nazir and Deeba).
After this people were quite convinced that they required a strong and powerful government.
Later in around 1787, a new constitution was introduced by the Constitutional Convention
and it provided much more power to the said federal government.
