1. My initial reaction to the play “ All my sons “by Arthur Miller was good as the play was
quite interesting in its nature and the way the events unfolded gave a chilling sensation. It
kept the reader in the mystery loop regarding who killed Larry Keller and who was
responsible of his death (Lewis). Moreover, the connection of Steve deever with Joe
Keller sparked interest in the play that made the reader quite awaited about what lies
further. The last scene of climax changed the course of the play where the Joe Keller was
indirectly accused for the death of his son (Anyon).
2. Arthur Miller who is the playwright of “All my sons “ was considered one of the greatest
playwrights in American History. Some of the interesting aspect of his life are-
 Miller lived a highly privileged childhood as his father owed women clothing
manufacturing business. It is considered an interesting aspect because he owed chauffer
and summerhouse at that time (Pera).
 In 1929, the events turned off against him, when the business of his father crashed and he
ended up doing odd jobs like delivering breads to help in family income.
 Miller turned down the opportunity if working as a screen writer for Hollywood instead
he ended up joining Federal theatre project but due to some reasons the project had to
shut down after a period of time (Anyon).
 Miller was fetched a very good amount for the play “ No Villain” written in just six days.
 Miller in his high school years suffered a knee injury where he was badly wounded. The
injury exempted from the military services in World War 2.
 Miller met his best friend who was the professor at the playwriting seminar at the
university of Michigan. It was that time when they remained great friends afterwards
(Lewis).
3. The interesting part that I found in the play was how the name “All my sons” quoted in
the end of the play as Joe Keller who was responsible for the death of 21 soldiers who
died in an air crash called him his sons because his son committed suicide as his fellow
died in the crash (Pera). The frustrating part in the play was when Joe Keller took the
criticism of George Dever but did not accept his sin of deploying defected parts in
aircraft that led to the crash and Steve Deveer imprisonment. Moreover, it was the
responsibility of Joe to take care of his employees when he was arrested under the faulty
charge (Anyon).
4. The play is important to American theater because it was set somewhere in World War 2
where America played the crucial role in supplying military personnel to the world at
large. Secondly, it is the pay written by one of the greatest American playwright Arthur
Miller thus developing a good connection with America. Moreover, the characters in the
play and the culture portrayed represented American values and ambitions in the best
manner (Pera).
