Analysis of the different kinds of facts on bullying and the effect of the same on youths along
with providing solutions to the problem
Bullying has become a constant problem in the schools and workplaces in the present
scenario, however it escalates to more severe matters (Einarsen et al., 2018). Most of us have
seen it happen and lot of us have idea on how it feels. There are people who might comment
that they are just ignorant, however bullies truly are criminals which steals the self-esteem
and at times it leads to ending lives. Both school and workplace bullying have the potential to
be repeated over time; however, the aspect differs in both cases.
In the case of school bullying, the kids in schools feel superior to the other students
by calling them with various horrible names and making fun of them as well. In the present
world scenario, the individuals feel that violence is the only solution to solve every problem
and if people keep the violence around us, it is not going to get better (Ttofi et al., 2016). The
point is that the violence will not make anyone a better person.
In the present scenario, it has been noticed that bullying is recognized as widespread
and neglected kind of issue in schools around the globe as it implicates the severe types of
consequences for the children who initiate practices related to the same and who are
victimised by the same. On the other hand, the paper seeks to understand why workplace
bullying and violence are the major issues for the organization and to what extent it is
problematic for the different organizations to manage the problem.
First of all, bullying is treated as crime as it can create serious effects on the
individuals. And, once the person is robbed of their self-esteem, they can be suffering from
physical as well as mental problems, dropping out from school, resign from the workplace or
even commit the suicide (Ttofi et al., 2016). As per the different studies which have been
conducted, there is a strong correlation which exists between the bullying the students during

bully, mainly due to the fact that bullies do not operate alone.
Furthermore, it has been found that different students considered that victims of
bullying to be weak, nerd and terrified to fight back. However, most of the students have
commented that they try to assist the victim and help them out effectively. Most of the
parents are unaware of problem-related to bullying and they discuss it with their children to a
limited extent. Only a minor percentage of the students feel that they will be receiving help
from adult regarding bullying and intervention of parents are ineffective and infrequent.
In various workplaces, the employees suffer from the different range of stress-related
health problems and the psychological effects are inclusive of panic attacks, significant
disturbance in sleep along with difficulty with lack of concentration. Those people who are
being targeted to be bullied are unable to respond to the abusive behaviour of the same with
aggression and it creates a negative impact on the employment (McCabe, Sheehan &
Garavan, 2018).
The highly competitive work environment that pits the different employees against
one another to increase the overall productivity can be a cause of bullying. More than 80% of

they are doing to others. Bullying someone is abuse and it should be stopped immediately as
it is taking the lives of the innocent ones. In addition, the parents, teachers and kids need to
work together and take appropriate action in case of such issues (Hicks et al., 2018).
The kind of harassment has been growing in the last few years with the various cases,
and it has been shown that bullying is changing as per the different age groups as more than
25% of the children in schools were bullied and it affected their morale and body language
negatively as well (Prevnet.ca, 2019). Moreover, people often think that bullies do not see the
effect of the different actions or they do not have any understanding on what they are doing
to others. However, the fact is that the bullies have knowledge on what they are doing and
whether the bullies are adults or kids, they know it is wrong. The kids in the present scenario
are always on internet and they meet strangers everyday which can create such problems and
it will create mental stress among them (Smith, Kwak & Toda, 2016).
Workplace bullying can be resolved by having a clear anti-bullying policy in place
that the different employees of different levels are aware of which will be outlining the stance
of the company in bullying and commitment towards preventing the same. Furthermore, there
should be the inclusion of setting of framework wherein the employees at different levels can
report bullying concerning the chain of command which will be establishing open door policy
which will encourage employees in speaking up in a supportive and safe environment without
any penalty.
In schools, it can be recommended that, there can be a separate department on anti-
bullying which will be beneficial for the reducing the bullying effects. The students require
to learn to identify bullying language along with actions in themselves and others. There
should be an inclusion of proper communication skills as this knowledge will help create a
positive environment wherein bullying is less likely to occur. There should be counselling

which is required to be made available to the kids who are being bullied and the children
should refer to outside therapists for on-going help. Lastly, the schools should have
substantial repercussions for bullying as bullying is a criminal offence and there should be
zero tolerance policy available for the students.
On the other hand, in workplaces there can be creation of well-developed and airtight
anti-bullying policy which will deal with such issues. Furthermore, there can be training
provided to the employees as to make them identify the signs of being bullied and address
such situations appropriately.
Therefore, it can be concluded that from the various reports that bullying is an illegal
offence in the workplace as well as schools as it affects the mental stability of the individuals.
In schools, there should be the implementation of the different school-wide events that will
be focusing on student body for example- ‘Bullying Awareness Tuesdays’ and ‘Say No to
Bullying’ which will help make the students aware of the punishments related to bullying. If
the entire world stands up against bullying activities, the world will become a better place. In
short, bullying is required to stop as it is criminal act and it abuses the victims. Bullies must
face the different consequences of the actions with either proper therapy or some type of
version of criminal punishment. There can be implementation of open-door policy in schools
and workplaces which will be approachable and let both employees and kids know that
someone is always there for their help.
