Discussion
Problem- The main problem which has been identified for Headspace is that they are not
gaining to access to adequate information which will help the in providing effective services to
their patients. It has been observed that the patients of Headspace consults multiple individuals in
order to address their anxiety, depression and threats but without much success and eventually
when they approach Headspace for their services they remain reluctant and hesitant to share their
full story to the Headspace professionals and therefore due to lack of adequate information it
becomes very difficult for the professionals of Headspace to provide the patients with the ideal
service which they seek. It has been observed that the youth population belonging to the age
group of 17-25 encounters various types of depressions, anxiety and stress due to professional or
personal scenario and therefore they require mental health intervention in order to cure their
depressions, anxiety and threats and to get back to their normal track of life.
As stated by Butler & Murphy (2014) in order to seek mental health intervention, it has been
observed that the youth population remains confused regarding whom to visit and consult for
curing their mental health problems and therefore as a result they visit various professionals
which include mental health clinics, psychiatrist, psychologists and medical staffs of hospitals,
general practitioners and mental health intervention service organization such as Headspace. In
order to cure their mental health, the young patients need to narrate their full case or story to the
professionals whom they visit in order to get the proper treatment and continue to do so till they
receive the ideal treatment from the professional bodies or consultants. As opined by Halfon et
al. (2014) it has been observed that the young patients tend to narrate their whole case history to
the consultants who they visit but gradually as the process goes lengthy and the patients do not
receive the ideal patient, they tend to refrain from sharing their case history to the professionals
or consultants who have the ability to cure their problems mainly due to frustration and lack of
effective results and therefore it becomes a major problem for mental health intervention service
provider organizations such as Headspace to provide the ideal services which the patients seek
for treatment of their mental health condition, mainly due to lack of information communicated
by the patients if they are approached by the patients during the latter stages of their depression
after getting fed up by lack of treatment facilities from the professionals who were consulted

earlier. According to Holland, Hatcher & Meares (2018) therefore it is very necessary for
Headspace to design and implement a system which will help in storing the detailed case
information and case history of the patients at the first instance or at the first meeting or
consultation session by capturing the information provided by the patent effectively so that it can
be retrieved at any point of time in order to provide with the ideal mental health intervention
services which they require to get back to normalcy without seeking continuous information
from their patients which tends to frustrates them.
Capabilities- One of the most vital capability of the system is that it can process the data and
information in a very short time interval and accordingly suggest the ideal health intervention
service for the patients based on the information provided by the patient, which helps in initiating
quick response strategy. As opined by Foldy, Grannis, Ross & Smith (2014) another vital
capability of the system is that it helps in summarizing the entire information provided by the
user into a compact and integrated case file which contains only information regarding the
patient and their cases and accordingly helps in eliminating useless information which are not
required for providing treatment. The other capability of the system is that it also helps in storing
information during the treatment process of the patients in order to keep a record of the treatment
provided to the patient and its effectiveness. As stated by Ranallo, Kilbourne, Whatley & Pincus
(2016) the other capability of the system is that it enables the patient to keep a track of their
improvement so that they could gain motivation which will ultimately help in speeding up their
recover process. The other capability of the system is that it assists Headspace in the decision
making process regarding treatments to be provided by patients and regarding modelling of
treatment framework for the patients. The other capability of the system is that it can prepare and
deliver instant reports to Headspace in context of the current mental health condition of the
patient and the progress of the patient after the initiation of mental health intervention services
based on various parameters.
Benefits- The main benefit which is associated with the system is that it will help in capturing
the information or case history shared by the patients at the first instance with limited human
intervention. As opined by Gotham, Le, Sottolano & Schmit (2015) the other benefit which is
associated with the system is that it can process and retrieve the information regarding the
patients in a very short time period which helps in increasing the effectiveness of the services

provided by Headspace. The other benefit which is associated with the new system is that is that
it can store a very large volume of information within it owing to its high storage capacity. The
other benefit which is associated with the new system is that it acts as a co-ordination and
interaction platform between the patient and the mental health intervention services provided by
the patients. The other benefit which is associated with the system is that it helps in increasing
the scope of services provided by Headspace in context of mental health intervention services.
The other benefit of the system is that it is user friendly in nature and it can be operated by
professionals who are also not highly trained to use the system.
