1.0 Introduction
The concept of marginalisation may be considered to be a widely discussed and
critically argued topic in the study of sociology as the conceptual framework of the same
may hold different parameters related to society, individual perception including life
experience and regulatory environments including the commitments of the Government
towards a sustainable society for the long-run (Fleming et al, 2017). The instant paper
deals with the concept of marginalisation especially in the context of service provision
for certain marginalised social groups like young people and children, women, people
with disabilities etc and regulatory cum legislative pronunciations to address such
issues of discrimination and marginalisation.
In the very beginning of the paper, the researcher has identified two peer-reviewed
journals focussing on the given theme and aimed to identify the ideas presented in
those two articles. In the later part of the paper, the theoretical framework of such ideas
in those two journals have been critically analysed to assess the importance of those
theories and ideas in the context of our lives. Finally, the paper concludes through a
recommendatory note for the society and regulators.
2.0 Summary of Ideas Presented in the Journals
As stated earlier, the researcher has identified the following two journals that discuss
about the concept of marginalisation in different aspects in the society and focus on the
ways as to how to overcome the same. These journals are listed herein as well as in the
appendices. However, the key themes presented in those two journals are briefly shown
below.

2.1 Journal One
In the consideration of Mowat (2015), the deprivation has many facets and poverty
stricken children may get adversely affected in terms lf their future aspiration and career
goals. Schooling is a critical aspect in a child’s life and hence the sense of
belongingness of a poor child from economically backward background may be related
to number of factors like academics, psychological environment of the institutions,
achievement parameters set by the regulators etc (Mowat, 2015).

2.2 Journal Two
In this paper, the author argues that the inequality has been wide prevalent in the world
as far as women rights are concerned and there have been number of regulatory
pronouncements as well to empower the weaker sex of the society (Di Cesare, 2014). It
is a well-known fact that the marginalisation of women may take various forms from
sexual abuse to corporate discrimination. In the given paper, the author has confirm that
no country in the world has been able till now to establish gender neutrality and hence it
may be stated that there exists a considerable gender gap in almost every countries
Global gender gap report also substances the same fact. As per the report of UNICEF,
in the year 2014 almost 700 million women across the world get married before the age
of 18 (Di Cesare, 2014).
3.0 Theories Presented in the Journals
In the first journal, the researcher has drawn references to couple of social sciences
theory such as social and cultural capital theory. The concept of marginalisation has
been explored through the effects of poverty on children’s lives. Also, the author
confirms that resilience may arise within the social framework which may be substituted
through ecological theory.
The second journal does not explicitly state any theory of social science; however, the
reference to social justice theory of human rights may be considered to be relevant in
the given context, considering he implications of women in the society, in terms of their

4.0 Impact of the Information in the Journals on the Social Workers
The children are considered to be vulnerable in terms of discrimination and hence, as
part of the society, it becomes our duty to structure such a social framework including
our educational system so that the sense of belongingness may be assured among the
children from economically poor background (Causadias & Umaña-Taylor, 2018).
On the other hand, it has also been observed that women are encouraged or
concentrated to contribute towards domestic production and hence such contribution
may be conceived to be a discriminatory as conceived by activists working for women
empowerment. It might also be stated that women subordination may be conceived
within the society from the practice of genital mutilation (Causadias & Umaña-Taylor,
2018).
5.0 Significance of the Information: Critical Analysis
Though the schools are construed to be an enforcing institution for non-discrimination,
schools may also be conceived to be acting like an agent of marginalisation through
their failure to draw the thin line of demarcation between the student’s academic,
sociological and psychological needs and the mental conditioning and capacity of them
to absorb the instructional needs in terms of standards set by the authorities (Sifris,
2016).
On the other hand, the violence against women is observed in all developed nations as
well. However, surprisingly, it may also be observed that despite equality initiatives
towards gender biasness, there remains certain area where male still may get harassed
and hence get overpowered by women (Suriyasarn, 2016). For example, the
maintenance and alimony expenses are majorly borne by the husband petitioner in the

case of contested divorce and the same system is widely prevalent across the world,
irrespective of the development of the economy of the countries. Therefore, it may be
conceived that the deprivation assumes its forms and shapes through legislations as
well that may need to be revisited by the regulators including the Government.
6.0 Conclusion
The aforesaid discussion establishes the fact that the marginalisation exists across the
world in many forms. In other words, the concept of marginalisation manifests itself
through poverty, alienation, resilience, reservation etc. Therefore, the enactment of
policies may need to be synced in line with the global sustainability framework towards
alleviating such marginalisation and resisting resilience towards the establishment of
diversity and harmony (Williams et al, 2017). Educational research should explicitly
consist of service provisioning for children, women and people with disability so that the
sense of belongingness gets restored through a steady and long-term approach by way
of economic upliftment of the society ensuring equity and equality (Polk et al, 2020). On
the other hand, the corporate strategy sets should also comply with the global
regulatory requirements towards deconstructing the various facets of marginalisation
and thereby addressing those issues for lifting societal morale and ensuring social
justice in most optimum manner for the long-run.
