The two frogs story theme
the theme is related to how two frogs get fooled due to their own perspective
Summary of story
The story state that there are two frogs who decided to visit each other town. But on way to it
they reach a mountain and look Osaka and Kyoto. The story is strengthen by foolishness of two
frogs regarding their destination. In story it is described about two frogs who lived in different
towns. They decided to visit each other town. So, when they reach a mountain they could easily
see both towns. They hold on to each other and Kyoto frog turned nose towards Osaka and
Osaka frog turned it towards Kyoto. Thus, their eyes where in direction from where they came.
This foolishness led to seeing each other town as copy. Therefore, they believed that both towns
are same. Hence, it ended as foolishness of those frogs. Thus, Osaka is a hub port city known for
its trade and Osaka was capital during 700’s. Kyoto was home for imperial family. So, people
mistaken Osaka as economic and Kyoto as cultural centre.
Why I choose this story
I had chosen this story because it described about how people can take some things as mistaken.
It means that we are not able to see things what they means. Also, i got to know about why
Osaka and Kyoto are famous for in Japan.
Why it impresses you
The story impress me as it relate saying of Buddhism about mistaking a rope for snake. Also, it
the tale tells that grass is not always greener. It means that our expectations and mistaken sense
can led to disappointment within us.
