Education system in UK and India
It is true that UK education system has several advantages and disadvantages for the
international student. The main advantage that an international student gets is the top ranked
universities in UK across the world. Student can find everything is needed such as research,
facilities, sports as well as socializing (UCAS, 2019). Moreover, it is founded that most
universities all over the world take around three to four years for providing degree to student.
As compare to this, while studying in UK, student get the degree faster. In addition to this,
the education environment of UK is also very well such as professors are quite strict so
students cannot sleep throughout the lecture (De Vita and Case, 2013). It is one such reason
UK education system has so many geniuses.
UK education system also offers several disadvantages for an international student. Student
has prepare himself or herself quite early regarding what they want to become. It differs from
the education system of America and India where students are allowed to change their major
around 2 to 3 time and not get affected (Harvey, 2017). Besides this, UK education system
also provides too less time to learn to the student as compare to other countries. In such
minimum time, students do not get chance to go deeper. As it provides degree in less time, it
is obvious that it is quite stressful for then international student (Hansen and Vignoles, 2015).
Education system of India is quite different from UK. It is seen that, respect is one of the key
element in achieving the goal. This term is taught in the school at early stage. As compare to
UK, day is almost start by greeting the teacher such as good morning or good afternoon
ma’am. In this way, the students welcome Indian teachers when they enter in class. UK
teacher also receive report on the part of students but sometimes lack due to their friendly
nature (Hartland International School, 2019). Teachers in UK are more congenial, friendly,
and diligent. In addition to this, discipline is also one such key factor in India, Schools started
at the 7.15 am and ends at the 1.30pm (Grewal, 2019). All the students are required to follow
these timings. Schools also have zero tolerance policy in regard to the indiscipline.
It is true that Indian education system requires several changes. The first change that is
required in the education system of India is its marketing system. Student in India is
evaluated based on only his or her three hours performance. If student of India will also
evaluated as per project work, classroom participation, leadership skills, communication as

well as extracurricular performance, then only genuine student will shine out. In addition to
this, variety of education streams is also less in India. After studying the class 10th, students
only stuck with three choice that are arts, science and commerce. Therefore, India education
system is required to introduce several courses combination so that student can choose
between minor or major subject. System of tuition classes is also prevailing on a large scale
in India. It is because students states that teaching in Indian schools are lax and they are not
enough for passing out the exams. By attending tuition classes, students directly jump to that
chapter that are not even taught in school. In this way, there is a requirement of changing
education system in India so that students can learn effectively in the school. In India,
education system does not even include the concept of specialization (Panda and Panda,
2018). For example- if a student want to be photographer, what that student will do with the
civics or history. Cheating in exams is also one such issue prevails in the Indian education
system. Education system in India also rarely rewards the students who really deserve the
highest academic accolades.
Several measures can be taken by India in order to eradicate the problem of poor education
system. The first and foremost thing is that India should not tolerate the unfair means in
exams at any cost. Strict action should be taken if any school or college involved in such type
of activity. It can also strictly banned such schools or college. Besides this, the marking and
testing system can also be built for recognizing the original contribution in the form of
innovation, problem solving and creativity. It can also implement the massive infrastructure
and technology for the education (Cotter, 2012). India can embrace the technology and
internet in order to aware the mass population including the people of remote areas.
Government can also take several measures for starting the quality of education in India. In
addition, education can be delivered in such a way that will help in improving the skills of
student and at the same time helps the student in gaining the qualitative knowledge. Due to
lack of trained teachers, in many schools students are not able to speak the English in proper
manner. Therefore, every school should hire proper qualified teachers based on their
communication skills and knowledge (SSIM, 2015). This will help in a great way to improve
the education system in India. Additionally, there is also need to change the way of giving
projects to Indian student. In India, students are given the project during summer time.
Students just copy paste the exact content from Google and does not put any effort. However,
this criterion can be change by ensuring strict guideline while giving project. It can also make
changes in providing project to students during their summer time. Providing project online

will help in checking the project of student (Mukherjee, 2015). In this way, all these changes
will help in improving the education system of India.
