Female victimization and criminality is a broad subject matter and the reporter has made
an exemplary attempt to identify the same and provide statistical data upon it (("Women and the
Criminal Justice System", 2020)).
The reporter in the issue is discussing the scope of issues with respect to the women and
the criminal justice system including the women being victims as well as the offenders. It further
highlights the aspect of women and girls as the population involved in criminality although
number being minor. The reporter has emphasized on the characteristics of women in custody
and their behavioural pattern with respect to the criminality and victimization including those of
correctional facilities and federal custodies.
The criminal justice matter being discussed here is that although small number of women
are involved in the committing crimes but it is crucial to assess the pattern of their crime
commitment. If not done so, the face of the society would reflect men as the major crime
committing population and would ignore the experiences of women and girls in the criminal
justice system.
The article discusses the prevalence and the character of the female victimization and
female criminality with respect to assessment and observation of female offenders in the criminal
justice system. The article further discusses the involvement of females (women and girls) in the
aspects of criminality and various arenas of crime from juvenile to adult accusations and its
related proceedings. The article also explains the representation of aboriginal women under the
supervision of correctional facilities.
The article is positive as well as negative, the two purviews of the article can be observed
as follows: firstly, it has highlighted the aspect of female criminality which is a suppressed

subject due to the trend of the society being the male of the offending population. Secondly, the
it has detailed the aspect of female victimization in various arenas of crime and their relation
with the offensive character of crime. However, it can largely be explained as the positive article
because it brings out the idea of equality among people with women not only being the
victimized population but also includes the offending population.
It can be concluded that the article is a compilation of the women and girls related
criminality and victimization and their behavioural analysis in correspondence with the statistical
data and reports.
