Advertising is one of the most important means to launch any particular products. This is
important because as soon as the companies or brands launch any particular product they have to
convey t to the targeted customers (Asif & Nisar, 2016). In this modern scenario, it is really very
important for all the companies to reach to their target audiences through different media
channels. However just as a coin has two sides advertising also have the pros and the cons.
The impact of advertisement on the teenagers and their behaviors
There many different forms of advertisement. This report will be dealing with the major
kinds of advertisements like television, outdoor and transit. The other kind of advertisement is
the online advertisement. This is also one of the most popular kinds of an advertisement that is
common among teenagers. This is because most of the teenagers are very active in social media
and other such online sits. It is for this reason that the parents and the other adult members must
make sure that they are helping their kids to understand the good and the bad of watching these
advertisements.
Television
The most widely seen example is the advertisements that come on the television. This is
having both advantage and disadvantage as well. The good aspect is that it is very easier to reach
out to the mass targeted audiences. People of all age groups have a habit of watching television
at some or the other points of time. So, one good point is that it helps in reducing the expenses of
the companies and at the sometimes they can reach out to a large number of people.

There is also some negativity like the annoyance that is created among people while
watching the television. This is because the advertisements keep popping up on the television
screen every now and then. This is really very bad for the people. There is also chance that it
does not appeal to the senses of the all the people. So, there is a chance that people might really
dislike many of the advertisements. A good example can be the lottery investment ads in Canada.
It is a fact that not all the people have an affinity towards lottery. So seeing the same
advertisements, again and again, is likely to create a negative attitude within them.
Outdoor and transit
The other form of advertisement is outdoor advertisements like posters, billboards,
vehicle advertisements, and others. One of the advantages is that people can catch a sight of
these advertisements while on their way to their work or other places. This is important because
it is less expensive and at the same time it is useful for moving people. They are also decorated
beautifully so that they can attract the attention of many different people at the same time this
might not be able to attract the attention of many people at the same time. Often it may also fail
to attract the attention of many people.
There are individuals who might not like to see advertisements with such incomplete
information. A good example can be Manitoba’s cellular network advertisements that are set on
the hoardings and posters along the roadside. This does not contain a good deal of information so
people might not be satisfied with such a small amount of details.
Online advertisement
This is one of the most popular forms of advertisement that reaches to the targeted
audiences rapidly. In particular, teenagers are the tech-savvy people and spend most of their time

browsing the internet. So, it is easier for them to get updates about different newly launched
products online (Altberg et al., 2018). There are also several web pages or query pages of all are
companies available online. This helps the customers in contacting with the concerned brands
instantly. However, the negativity is that online advertisement can reach appeal to a limited
number of audiences. People without any internet connection will not be able to see or even get
benefitted out of the online advertisements.
Conclusion
So, it can be concluded that there are both advantages and disadvantages of
advertisements. All the three forms of advertisements like the television, outdoor, transit and also
the online advertisements have several pros and cons. It helps people in staying updated about
the different innovations taking place around them. At the same time, it might have some
negative impacts on the minds of the youngsters or teenagers. So, it is the responsibility of the
Parents and the other adult members to make sure that they are guiding the teenagers in this
crucial period.
