Imperialism refers to the policy that pertains to the involvement of a nation in the
extension of the power of the concerned nation by acquiring foreign lands by the various
processes that might include the employment of the diplomatic strategies, the force of the militia
that has been serving the concerned nation and by the method of the purchase of the concerned
lands (Mattingly 2013). The concept of imperialism differs from the concept of the colonialism
though both the concepts are often confused to be similar to each other (Cain and Hopkins 2014).
The concept of colonialism states that the policy as adopted by the concerned polity aims to deal
with the ability of the concerned polity to bring about an extension or the retention of the
authority of the concerned polity over the other territories and the residents of the area. The
concept of colonialism generally aims to develop or exploit the residents of the colony in order to
help in the development of the colonizing polity (Lehning 2013). The colonization also aims to
bring about a modernization in the colony as per the definition of the term by the colonizers with
a major focus on the economics of the country, the health of the residents of the country and the
religion that is majorly followed within the country (Altbach 2015). The following essay deals
with the various strategies adopted by the colonizers and proceeds further to discuss on the
various countries that were affected by the colonizing processes. The essay continues to discuss
the reasons for the colonization in the concerned countries and nears its end with a discussion on
the various consequences that resulted from the colonization of the concerned countries with
more stress on the economic consequences that were faced by the residents of the concerned area

The concerned political entity that is known to have been colonized a foreign land or
territory needs to implement various strategies in order to complete the concerned process. The
major intent of concerned colonizers in all times is the development of the colonizing polity with

concerned authorities that had been functional within the colonized territory. The major strategy
adopted by the colonizers might therefore refer to the proposed economic development of the
colonized territory. The colonizers, however also adopted the strategies that had led to the

colony. The other strategies that are observed to have been put to use by the concerned
colonizers are the strategies that deal with the conquering of the concerned areas of the foreign

This strategy has been observed to deal with the various matters that are related to the transfer of
the administrative power of the concerned territory or state into the hands and control of the
colonizers of the land. The colonization strategies that were followed during the modern times
tended to involve the matters that pertain to the signing of the trade treatise in the initial stages.
This might further continue to deal with the settlements of the concerned colonizers within the
boundaries of the concerned lands. The colonizing of the various countries might initiate from
the treatise of the development of the concerned country that has been colonized however, with
the passage of time the colonizing entity tends to become oppressive for the native residents of
the concerned countries thereby leading to the conditions that pertain to the oppression of the
native people who have been residing in the concerned country prior to the arrival of the
colonizers to the land. The major strategies that are implemented by the colonizers of the land
are the matters that are related to the exploitation of the concerned native people of the country

the issues of the colonialism are the various countries that belong to the category of the

been compelled to face the various atrocities and oppressions that are faced by the concerned

meted out to the concerned members of the society. The treatment that were meted out to the
natives of the various territories was similar or even worse than those that were extended to the

with the all-round upliftment of the overall economy of the concerned colonizer country.
The consequences of the colonization seemed to affect the economy of the country in a
