The term communication refers to act of giving sharing and receiving information while
being in a group or with other individual. For inclusive of the concept, it is the most important
skill that is desired by an individual in respect to attain personal or professional career life goals.
This ensures proper coordinative efforts at a workplace and increases the chances for completion
of goals and objectives in a desirable period of time maintaining appropriate standards of
workings. Maintaining proper communication is important seeking to competitive environment
and deriving productive outcomes out of resources being invested in a process or a task being
performed (Chang and et. al., 2018).
Barriers to communication
Regardless of various types of communication due to differences in behaviour of
individuals and a potential risk of internal as well as external factors which causes barriers to
communication. Due to such barriers to communication several difficulties and challenges are
faced by an individual or an organisation in respect to adhere to their quality working guidelines.
In addition to this, such barriers might deliver unproductive results to a workplace and could be
the potential cause of conflicts or disputes at a workplace. Following are some barriers to
communication that might degrade the standard quality of work and sometimes could lead to
unproductive outcomes (Chernova and Kudryavtseva, 2020); Lack of trust: It sometimes becomes difficult to communicate any information or an idea
to individual when there is lack of trust between individuals or a group of individuals. For
instance an information or an idea is being transmitted in a manner in which it appears
that some respective speaker is holding back something. Therefore, as a result it might
result in speculation and would lad to miscommunication or ineffective communication. Conflicts at workplace: Conflicts or disputes have a nature for their appearance at any
time or a place. Such conflicts or disputes could be possible resultant of barriers to
communication. This can be backed up by the fact that due to conflicts the desirable
information will not reach the target group in reasonable time or in terms of quality.
Therefore, due to such workplace conflicts information to be communicated might be
delayed and thus, might also degrade the productivity of the business firm.

Cultural differences: Sometimes due to cultural differences leading to differences in
language spoken by individual or a group could possibly lead to barriers to
communication. For the reason being information or data being communicated by an
individual in respective language might not be understandable to other individual.
Therefore, such information or data could be miss-tracked or interpreted by receiver in
which correct information or real meaning of the data can be missed on both the ends that
are receiver and speaker respectively.
Technological barriers: Such type of barriers might arise due to lack of availability of
updated technologies for approaching to workplace tasks. Under this information or data
being delivered by speaker might be misinterpreted by receiver due to fault in technology
or could be due to using of out-dated technology (Sisk and et. al., 2021).
