Introduction
In this report it is been discussed about the guideline of Covid 19 and the protocols
that are followed by the hotel while guest checking. The hotel that is chosen for the report is
Marriot hotel and resort (Guffey & Loewy, 2021). The report covers the protocol that is
follow by the hotel industry during the global pandemic which they have to implement on the
customers.

Discern and explain the Covid 19 protocol that hotel industry implement while the guest are
checking
The time period of Covid 19 is such a worst that many big and small scale company are
suffering losses. Most of the organisation is affected during the pandemic some are getting
shutdown and some are in the state were they are still coping to recover their cost and run
successfully. Marriot is such a big organisation in the hospitality industry (Dimitrios and et.
al, 2020). The organisation are strictly following the rules that are being made by the
government while seeing the Covid crisis. The techniques that are followed are discussed
below:
Vaccination policy: The first most protocol that they are implementing is that the
guests who are checking in the hotel need to be vaccinated. They need to show their
Certificate while booking in the hotel (Rueda López and et. al, 2021).
Mask mandatory: The guests who are entering in the property need to wear mask
while they are moving in the hotel or resort. Social distancing is also must. Managers
need to look over all this and make sure that their guests are following this and should
also understand that why this is necessary. The hotel employee are also giving entries
to that guests only who is wearing the mask (Awan, Shamim & Ahn, 2020).
Sanitizing facility: The hotel is also keeping various sanitizers stand in different
places of the hotel and resorts so that guest can sanitize there hand while entering
different are of the property. The hotel has put a sanitising machine in the entering
gate where the whole body of the guests are been sanitize while they are entering so
that they can reduce the risk. After any checkouts the whole room are also been

sanitised so that no other guests are being infected and feel safe to make booking over
there (Allaberganov, Preko & Mohammed, 2021).
Remote working: As the pandemic is so dangerous that employees are preferring the
work from home facility so that they can work remotely without making interaction.
So this option is given by the Marriot to their employee to do work remotely which
can be done without coming to the hotel (Filimonau, Derqui & Matute, 2020).
Limited guests and employee: Marriot is also following the protocol where the
number of employees working is working in shifts and the guest’s number is also
limited. There are not allowing mass gathering in the hotel and resorts (González-
Torres, Rodríguez-Sánchez, & Pelechano-Barahona, 2021).
Conclusion:
From the above report it is concluded that it is necessary for the hotels and resort to
effectively follow the protocols so that the spread of virus is can be reduce and there guest are
also follow this so that they cannot be infected by the pandemic. This helps the company to
provide their best efforts to their customers.
