Crime and its effects on local society
Crime is defined as the offence where the someone can be punished by the government. It
has a negative impact on the society by making people feel angry, fearful, full of negative
feelings, isolated and many others. It is a major part of the society where the loss can be of
person's life or income. The main drawback of the crime is the loss that the both victims or non-
victims have to follow where some of the costs of crime will be easily defined and some are not
which includes pain, problems or sufferings. It has both effect emotional and psychological that
will lead to loss of family, financial or physical loss. Crime is directly linked to loss in
economical by low productivity and new long-term problems.
The crime lead to affect the victims for long period, they feel upset or lost control over
their life and sometimes blame themselves. It threaten the whole society and their loved ones.
The crime also affects the level of economic productivity and it can be a dangerous situation for
the people around the accused one such as family or friends. Examples of the crime such as rape,
murder, child abuse, harassments, domestic violence, gang violence, sexual assault or elder
abuse. It is a result of so many others things of the life too such as money or revenue where
money can be one of the main root cause of the crime. People commit crime due to the shortage
of money too where the people may steal the valuable stuff of the person and it will lead to
create the level of social gap between rich and poor. It is clear that nobody is born criminal and
crime is done by both rich or poor people and they breach the rules, regulations. The punishment
of the crime is as per the level of crime such as if the crime is small or at a lower level then the
punishment will be less that is prison for few months or money can be paid in the form of fine
for the punishment. It will take time to get justice as it is a lengthy process under which the
decision is taken by the Judge to take the best and fair decision. It is required to eradicate the
crime in the society in order to have peace or harmony and to have equal level of justice for each
people without any discrimination.

Crime and its effects on local society

Crime is directly related to the human society globally and where the government has
setup the various law, rules or regulations that are to be followed by the all people. As we all are
a part of society where we are provided various rights which are to be protected by the
government and state. Crime is said to be an act of aggression and violence by an individual or
group of people and this is prohibited by the state and the accused has to face the punishment due
to the crime. Crime affects the society in different ways and crime is as old as the human society
itself. Crime is a harmful act. The crimes are prohibited all over the world and nowadays,
cybercrime is a type of crime which is committed by the cybercriminals and hackers whose main
motive is to earn money without doing anything and they are performed by the group of people
or individuals. Mainly the reason is personal and there are different types of cybercrime such as
internet fraud, theft of payment, demanding money, cryptojacking or many others. It can be
protected by using some tips which are explained below-
 The system can be kept updated so that the computer data will stay protected with
security.
 It can be protected with the help of using strong passwords where the hacker will not
be able to guess and do the crime.
 People always stay alert while staying online by not giving personal information on
the phone, email. The main thing is to keep in mind that avoid clicking on the spam
emails or websites that can be harmful for the person.
 It is essential to keep a check on the bank statement as this is the main zone of the
hackers and if any unfamiliar transaction is seen then the bank will look after that
cause.
 It can be reduced by using the anti-virus software that can be a good option to stay
safe and protect the system form various attacks. This software is allowed to scan
and detect the threats and the software should be kept updated so that the protection
can be made at the best level.

the internet thieves. Moreover, it is also stated in the article that both the above mentioned
governments have spend billions of pounds in order to deal with the issues created by the crime.
There are some companies which are the main victim of the cyber crime such as insurance
companies, energy suppliers and banks. Some crimes like shoplifting and fraud cost business in
the UK billions of pounds each year. The robbers have changed their old methods of committing
crime and using the internet ways to commit crime the best example is cybercrime. It also
includes the stealing of highly confidential information. It also highlighted the various points
such as the rise of home insurance premium, people felt frightened in or outside of the house,
homeowners found it more difficult to sell their property in the market, repairing damang from

Article two is related to the crimes in England in the year ending June 2021 and the
various domestic abuse in England and Wales in November 2021. The article two compromise
the various crimes such as sexual offence, domestic abuse, fraud and computer misuse offences.
The article further explained the various patterns of the crime in the year 2021 during the

pandemic and the government issued various instructions regarding that such as to limit the
social contact. The article further explained the number of crimes which are recorded by the
police in England and Wales which has increased by 6 percent in the year ending March 2021.
There are number of cases recorded in March. Under the head sexual offence , such offences got
increased in the quarter level between April and June 2021. The figures shown in the project is
the impact of the high profile cases and the various campaigns on victims to report incidents. The
article also presented the percentage of CPS that is Crown Prospective Services which got
decreased by three percent from 79,965 in the year ending March 2020 to 77,812 in the year

general people living in society. In addition to that, people might turn frightened inside as well as
outside their own house. Migration of people from that particular location to another could be a
possible outcome for the same. Furthermore, new business units would be avoiding locations
effected by criminal activities and practices.
 Consequence of criminal activities to businesses
New and additional business units are observed avoiding areas prone to criminal activities. For
instance, these unethical practices could become a barrier in carrying out business operations and
activities efficiently. Cybercrime is another majot threat for businesses to operate their
operations and activities. Therefore, these aspects will directly result in economic loss for that
area as well as lack of facilities and services in that particular location.
 Impact of rising crime rates to government
Rising crime rates in an economy involves additional focus and budget of government in order to

to the crimes in England in the year ending June 2021 and the various domestic abuse in England

other hand, article 2 delivers key information in respect to crime and justice and suitable trends
for England and Wales. In the provided paper, several data and information was being presented
on two sets of statistics. These were crime surveys for England and Wales and police crime data.
For article 1, crimes such as shoplifting and fraud costs businesses in UK for approx.
billions of pounds each year. For instance, the cost of business crime in Scotland was over £5
billion. This denotes the purpose of the paper is in regards to highlighting impact of crime on
