The main problem that can be identified from the scenario is that of the separation anxiety of Margot
particularly during the absence of her parents. This often leads to refusal to eat and sleep during the time of
lack of parental care (Australiancurriculum.edu, 2019).
In this regard, the preventative approach that needs to be taken for Margot is to ensure that she is provided
with a good routine. This can help the child to remain safely in the learning environment and gain a feeling
of comfort while taking up courses in the learning environment
The best process that can be adopted to help Margot is to apply the Humanism theory. This theory states that
feelings of a person need to be acknowledged and supported (Eisenberg, Spinrad & Knafo‐Noam, 2015, p.
44). In this case it is necessary that the childcare centre acknowledges the feelings of Margot and
consequently abide by the facts that interest her. It has been seen from the scenario that Margot shows
proficiency in being attached towards other people. Her strength is the manner in which she can
communicate with every people in a sophisticated manner. Along with this she displays a deep attachment
with her parents. Therefore, the parents as well as the childcare centre can work together to understand the
learning environment and the things to expect within the environment.
A systematic process can be made that may begin after Margot is dropped off by her parents at the child care
centre. Within the facility, the people involved in taking care of Margot can provide her with a daily routine
each day. This process can be related with the socio cultural theory that takes place within the learning
environment (Cummings & Valentino, 2015, p.41). In order to incorporate the message, the childcare centre
can develop sticky and attractive notes that provide a schedule for Margot. It can also help Margot to remain

focused and have the knowledge that her parents will arrive on time to receive her from the centre. The daily
scheduling can help in developing a sense of cognitive mindset of Margot.
The psychology that can be related to such behaviour is that with a daily work schedule, Margot can be
engaged in the childcare centre with a clear sense that her efforts are acknowledged. This can also provide
Margot with the ability to control her life with the knowledge of the things that need to be done and to
maintain the schedule provided. Margot can be provided with a safe and positive environment that provides
her with support (Eisenberg, Spinrad & Knafo‐Noam, 2015, p.44).
Margot can develop a strong sense of identity which in turn can help her to feel accepted. She can use her
communication skills to develop positive relationships with people and ensure that she can trust the people
involved with the childcare centres. In this regard, the application of three psychological practises can be
witnessed. These include the responsiveness (ability to communicate with people), holistic approaches
(ability to maintain a routine on a daily basis) and continuity of transitions (ability to continue with the

The current scenario analyses the feelings that occur once a person or people are replaced in someone’s life.
The situation deals with Janine and the feeling she has while residing with her father.
Therefore, in this case the preventive measures that can be taken include development of partnerships that
provide a security in the relationship. At the same time, relationships between the concerned people need to
be respectful and reciprocal so that every party involved can lead a happy life (Sluckin, 2017, p.66).
The important element that needs to be addressed in this case is the fact that the replacement of uncle and
aunt in case of Janine has a strong emotion for her (Australiancurriculum.edu, 2019). The fact that she is
unable to accept the fact is crucial in order to build her relationship with the people around her. At a tender
age, it is necessary to have friends so that the life can be shaped in a proper manner and social interaction
skills be developed (Singer 2017, p.55).
In order to maintain a proper and safe environment for Janine, it is necessary that a supporting environment
be provided to her. In this case, the scenario shows that the relationship that Janine has with her father has
affected her activities at school. Therefore, it is the duty of her parents to ensure that Janine get proper
response for her troubles so that she can be a part of the society in which she is brought up. Therefore,
humanism theory can be applied that can help Janine to maintain a stable relationship with her family
members. This can be done by the applicaton of socio cultural theory in which Janine can schedule time with
her parents and try to abide by the plans that has been set for her (Australiancurriculum.edu, 2019).
On the part of the school, the same scheduling can be done with the parents so that they can understand the
change in the behaviour displayed by Janine. However, the main focus need to be on Janine’s dad as
evidence from the scenario states that after the arrival of the dad, Janine displayed emotional and mental

change. Therefore, a parental guide book can be and letting them know that a change in Janine's behaviour
has been noticed by the teacher and her peers. The resource plays a part in the dad's life more than it does
with Janine, as the book aims to help dad have a better understanding how to help Janine with her feelings of
replacement (Australiancurriculum.edu, 2019). The daughter father time can help Janine get over the
troubles she had after her aunt and uncle separated. The dad also needs to be involved in playful activities
with Janine so that replacement of the cousin can be accounted for.
Such actions can help Janine gain confidence in her school, and she can stop her bossy attitude that has been
a main factor since the separation. The application of ECYF, Humanism and Sociocultural theories can help
Janine to show respect to every people in order to gain respect from others (Australiancurriculum.edu,
2019).

For this the preventative approach that can be taken is to consider the strengths that exist for Bertie. The
strength can help in the development of social skills along with the creativity of the child. Association with
other children and engaging in physical activities like games can help Bertie to shun away the feeling of
isolation.
In order to ensure that Bertie socialises with the other children it is necessary that the classroom provides
opportunities for the development of a social class. The resource in this case can be a large drawing canvas
in which the creative ideas of the students can be welcomed. This can help Bertie to continue with the
interaction with other children and ensure that collaboration is maintained with other children and the
teachers. The encouragement of the strength of Bertie can help him to develop his communication skills
along with the development of personality and talents of the child (Education.gov.au, 2019). At the same
time, the parents of Bertie can be provided with the knowledge of the creativity skill of Bertie so that
parental pressure about completing a report for engaging in exclusive schools can be curbed. Therefore, the

being in isolation and continue to make rapid developments in the school.
Along with this the drawing canvas can help in supporting Bertie in the school and encourage his talents to
be enhanced further. He can made to feel as a valuable member of the school and this can be considered as

an important encouragement from his part particularly given the fact that he is more inclined to being lonely
and isolated. As stated by Turiel (2015, p.32) the application of group and collaboration can help in the

of Bertie over his abilities and he can be made to participate in physical activities such as games in order to
remain socialised.
The application of ECYF, humanism, cognitive as well as socio cultural theories can be related with the
scenario in which Bertie can be placed (Education.gov.au, 2019). For example, the application of theories
that deal with the confidence of the children can be based on the cognitive belief that children can become
an active contributor in the society after future development. Therefore, confidence of the children needs to
be built from an early childhood stage particularly while encouraging the skills they have aside from
education (Jorm, 2017, p.33). The fact that Bertie’s parents think him to be gifted does not indicate the fact
that Bertie need to be pressured in terms of receiving education from highly reputed schools within the
society by sacrificing his talents (Education.gov.au, 2019).

Therefore, in this case the preventative measures that can be taken into account is to ensure that a strong
relationship is maintained with fellow students so that development of social skills can be made. At the same
time, it is a challenge for Michael to remain fit so that he does not lose out on curriculum that are being
taught at school (Education.gov.au, 2019).
The resource that can be use for the development of Michael in the school can be in the form of online
education. Michael can connect with his teacher and at the same time ensure that he remain friends with the
children at school. This can be done by establishing Google classroom and home education. In this case the
application of Humanism and Sociocultural theory can be made (Harris, 2017, p.126). The resource that is
used can help in creating assignments, and distribute tasks to Michael. The tasks distributed are provided in
the form of online assignments so that Michael can remain in contact with his teachers. The application of
Google as an effective app can help Michael to schedule his classes and remain in contact with his friends.
However, another issue that need to be dealt with is the fact that Michael need to remain healthy. This can
help him to visit the school and associate in sports and curricular activities in a more physical manner. This
can help in providing Michael with the required encouragement to communicate with his friends. Therefore,
a socio cultural relationship can be formed that can help in active learning (Halim et al. 2016, p.193).
Direct interaction with the children can help Michael to gain respect and trust from the teachers and students.

At the same time an opportunity can be created for the development of reciprocity towards learning and
dialogue. Michael can be taught to abide by the rules and understand the limited boundaries that need to be

The importance of having friends in life is that it can help in maintaining a stable mental as well as healthy
wellbeing for people. For Michael, the emergence of friends in life can help him to remain updated with his
activities at school and at the same time help in developing a stable communication process at the school.
The application of the theories can be related with the framework set up in the Australian Curriculum
(Education.gov.au, 2019). Michael needs to interact in an effective as well as respectful manner with other
children as well as the teachers. Working in teams can help Michael to make decisions in a united manner.
