Interpersonal communication is the process in which an individual exchange his thoughts and
views by verbal and non-verbal messages and it is done by face to face communication.
1- Significant strengths in interpersonal communication
I am good in verbal communication and decision making which makes a significant strength in
interpersonal communication. These strengths help me out to take quick decision without giving
much time on particular activity. My strength in verbal communication makes me confident in
front of strangers as I am well efficient to communicate with others. It is vital for the employee
of an organization to have the perfect interpersonal skills to contribute in the growth of the
organization and my strengths in interpersonal skills will be advantageous not only for
organization’s growth but also my personal growth (Berger Jonah 590). Along with that my
listening skills is quite good which make me able to attentive and hear process information
effectively.
2- Significant weaknesses in interpersonal communication
Lack of interpersonal skills may discourage an employee towards performing the task. My
significant weaknesses in interpersonal communication are lack of negotiation and problem
solving. It is essential for the personal growth to have the problem solving skills because
problem will come in the life in any form and the solution of them should be finding in an
appropriate manner. The reason behind lack of interpersonal skills in me is too quick to quit
which being the major cause of lack of problem solving skills. There is an example of
weaknesses in interpersonal communication that is refuse to network. It is necessary for
developing the interpersonal skills to tell people about the attainment and skills to develop the
confidence and respect in the view of outsiders.

The interpersonal communication related goals are defined below which would be helpful to
increase the interpersonal communication skills.
Be attentive
It is necessary to reduce the weakness of interpersonal skills to be attentive as it develops the
attentive mind of a person to listen others. It is the goal which facilitates in taking decision in
efficient way and increasing the ability of self awareness. Listening is as important as speaking
as it enables person to understand the real criteria (Herbert and Petra 40).
List the possible solutions
Problem solving skills can be developed in an efficient manner if one can take initiative in
making list of possible solutions. Alternative solutions can develop the proper strategy in
resolving the issues significantly.
Focus on negotiation skills
Strong negotiation skills are widely benefitted throughout one’s life and good negotiation skills
entail assertiveness, problem solving, effective speaking, friendly nature and dealing with
difficult situations in more efficient manner.
