Overview
Technologies are emerging on a wider extent and are actually acting successfully in
increasing the overall speed of operations in a way that it can affect all processes and, thus
achieving a higher rate of popularity as well as productivity (Hellweg andCanals, 2014). For
small and medium sized companies, the involvement of digital technology can prove beneficial
but for them, there are various challenges that are associated with it and these may involve
factors like cost, resources etc. Although the fact is true that there are various opportunities
associated with the involvement and implementation of digital technology but, there are various
challenges that one has to face during the emerging of technologies in the Little chef restaurant.
Aim
To analyse the challenges of integrating emerging technologies within Little Chef
restaurant.

Rationale
There has been observed various issues that have been faced by the small and medium
sized organisations regarding the rate of the processing of the operations, so there is actually the
need for focusing upon the opportunities as well as the challenges with the emerging new
technologies. For Little chef as well, although there can be various benefits from the
implementation of the digital technology but at the same time, there are various factors that may

act as a challenge during the implementation of these technologies. Therefore, for analysing the
challenges effectively so that proper and preventive measures can be taken in account so that it
can help in resolving the issues as soon as possible, so that it can throw a positive impact on the
processing of the operations. This will also help Little chef to focus on achieving their outcomes

Challenges associated with the emerging technologies
Although it is obvious that there are many benefits and opportunities of using and
implementing the digital technology but there are enormous number of challenges as well that
are associated with the same. As in case of any organisation, when they involve the digital
technology in order to maximize overall rate of the processing, they should also ensure this fact
that the employees must not be aware of using it etc. So, in such cases, there might be the
possibility that the employees can push back. On the basis of the fact that whether they will be
able to do it or not, they can push back and leave restaurant (Neuhofer and Buhalis, 2014). So,
this can be considered as one of the challenging factor that can throw an impact on the popularity
and productivity rate of the firm.
Another factor that can act challenging is considered as the cost. It is because in
implementation of digital technologies in an organisation, the implementation cost is quite
expensive and for small and medium sized organisations like Little chef, it is quite difficult to
arrange that much amount. Although after the implementation, processing is quite easy but for a
proper implementation, a high cost is required. Lack of digitization strategy can also be
considered as a challenging factor because if the organisation does not have proper ways and
techniques of making use of the technologies involved, then it can be considered as a waste of
time.
So, along with the involvement of digital technologies, it is very important that there
should be proper ways and techniques of using the same in order to make an effective use of it.
Otherwise, this cannot be classified as much beneficial factor for the firm. Availability of

employees and this can involve a huge amount of cost, maintaining the quality of the outcomes,
managing security concerns etc. So, with the emergence of integrated technologies, there might
be the possibility that the organisation have to face major challenging barriers such as cost,
support etc. from team members and other employees of the organisations, so these can throw a
major impact on the operations and processing of the operations and services of the firm. So, it is
very important to consider the fact that with the emergence of new technologies, there are
enormous number of opportunities and along with that, there are an equal number of challenges
as well which needs to be ensured by the company in achieving a sort of balance between
different operations of the organisation.

interpreting collected data. It is the base for the study from which the scholar aims at drawing
final conclusion to study. There are two types of data analysis method that is qualitative and

Approach to study helps in analysing information in different and unified ways in order
to develop critical understanding over research topic. In this the approach to study will be based
on developing understanding on the challenges of integrating emerging technologies within
Little Chef restaurant. There are two types of research approaches that is inductive and
deductive. Thus, in this study the researcher will make use of inductive approach which the help
which the person will be able to analyse data with the help logical and analytical reasoning.

Data collection is considered as a way of collecting the data and information. The data
collection can be simply classified in two types, either by the primary way or by the secondary.

Research limitations can be considered as some factors that can act as a sort of limitation
or complication in any process of the research (Chen and Zhang, 2014). Like in case if the
deadline of the research is extended by the research, the fact that is to be ensured is that along
with the time, availability of all other factors required is important as well such as the cost etc. It

Sampling
Sampling is considered as a method of collecting the data and information from a sample
of interest. There are variosu aspects in which the sampling can be classified into and these
involve simple random sampling, systematic sampling, cluster sampling, stratified sampling etc.
In case of simple random sampling, the people for the sample are selected randomly. There is no
specific criteria for the same (Boddy, McCalman and Buchanan, 2018). In stratified sampling,
the people are being divided in groups for making it more clear. In case of systematic sampling,
the value which occurs after a fixed interval, is being selected. In case of cluster sampling,
different samples of people act as the clusters and from these clusters, people are being selected
for further collection of data. In this research, the researcher will make use of the simple random
sampling because this will help in analysing the impact of different challenges of digital
technology in Little chef restaurant.

Ethical consideration are the base of the study and is the foremost responsibility of
researcher which needs to be considered. Ethics consideration in this study will be focused on
respondents and their participation in interview. The researcher will ensure that no individual is

It can be concluded from the report that as there are different opportunities associated
