Diversity in the Workplace
1. What is Racial:
Racial issues at the workplace are the issue in terms of the cast and background of the people.
It is basically based on a different culture of the people who are working together at a
common place and have a different mentality and mindset about the different people and
what they have to do. It is difficult to deal with different people with different mindset and
therefore this is one of the issues in the workplace. Racial issue at workplace can be the
discrimination in terms of religious. Every employee has a different caste and has its own
beliefs and values or family background. This discrimination can be done by the employers
who are of different caste which is considered as a major issue in workplace. If employees
are of different backgrounds and cast then it can relate with the issue of racism and reduction
in the engagement among the society and community relationships as well. Racial issues in
the workplace environment hinder and destroy the engagement among employees. This
damages the motive of the people who came together for mutual task and is considered the
major issue which results in lack of communication and interaction among the teams (Lall-
Trail, Salter and Xu, 2021).
2. What is Ethnic:
Ethnic issues in terms of racial issues at the workplace can be considered similarly in terms
of diversity among various groups of people working together. These issues are related with
the cast and culture of the person who are working as a team within the same organization
and important to maintain and understand each other so that they can achieve the common

3. What is Gender:
Gender issue at workplace is considered as a major issue with an organization. The head of
the organization consistently looks for the male candidate to seek any higher position and the
female candidate to just work on the constant position as she is working from the start which
is wrong. It must be the equal opportunity for male and female to work within organization
and there must be no gender discrimination at workplace. Employers discriminate between
their male employees and female employees to carry the higher responsibility and lower
responsibility according to the priorities and racism done by the employers in the workplace.
Gender issues in the workplace environment are all the major issues and this is because the
manager who is actually managing the workplace environment is usually the male person
because they are given the responsibility rather than women. It is important to provide
opportunities equally to all the genders so that they can grow in their life and have a good
interaction in the society for better standard of living (Roberson, 2019).
4. Age distribution of the people in each of these environments:
Age distribution of the people issue at the workplace is also the problem in which
opportunities are given according to the age but not by reviewing the talent and skills the
person is having. This discrimination is critical and it is important to get normalized that
below age person can also get the higher post in the organization according to its experience
and skills rather than the higher age person who do not have skills and experience because
age discrimination can reduce the productivity of the organization. Employees who are of

higher age are given the post of handling the other employees and other management projects
given in the workplace. It is important for the employers to provide equal opportunities for
higher age and older people so that the lower class people can grow equally and grab the
opportunities for better growth and development. There is a mindset of the people that they
will not interact with the people who are of different age in the higher or lower. They are
more interested in interacting the people of the same age. This is a wrong mentality and age
discrimination which is not supported in the current society. It also states that people who are
of the same age make their personal group and interact with each other but unknowingly that
the professional gatherings are for the people who can interact with different types of people
irrespective of the age colour and caste. Interacting with people of different ages helps in
developing the mind and exposure of different knowledge gaining as well that is why it is
considered as a major issue (Grissom, 2018).
5. What do you observed that you may not have noticed where you not investigating
diversity in organization?
I have noticed that the investigation is not done on the color of the people in terms of
black and white. Because diversity in the workplace is also based upon the color of the
people and discrimination is being done by the authorities according to the physical look
of the people which is wrong and a major issue at the workplace (Ng and Sears, 2020).
