1ANCIENT HISTORY
During the times of the Carolingian or Medieval Europe, Jews and Christians had a very
bad relationship among themselves. Both these sections were diverse in religious terms and they
always had hostility against each other. However, it must be said that devastating situations after
the Second World War still very much relevant in this discourse. Therefore, many Christians
almost persecuted the Jews completely. The amount of hatred was so much that they could not
resist themselves from killing the Jews (Cohn-Sherbok, El-Alami and Chryssides: 25).
Before the advent of this destructive war situation in the continent, France ws
acknowledged as one of the central points to go through proper study on Jewish people. The rise
of anti-Semitism was one of those events which guided these relations towards more violence
and intolerance. The believers of anti-Semitism always had to analyze the Jewish problem so
they could finish this issue forever (Baumgarten and Galinsky: 37). The situation went out of
hand and Jews were forced to believe that they were the minority sections within the society.
Amidst these issues, anti-Jewish emotions ran over there completely.
Apart from this time, the harsh languages have also been thrown at the Jews in the earlier
periods and this has been mentioned in the Gospels (Cohn-Sherbok, El-Alami and Chryssides:
25). The economic situations had also collapsed due to this conflicts and clashes between the
Jews and Christians. The trade relations were improving during the times of Crusade and
German merchants took the decision of not making any trade with the Jews. Therefore, the
interactions between Jews and Christians were very limited.
