Section 3:
Introduction paragraph
The following analysis aims at providing an annotated bibliography which is related to the given
journal articles. These articles would help in determining the roles of the engineering managers
for achieving the sustainability in engineering management. One of the ways of attainment of
sustainability in engineering management is by doing more than just abiding by the codes and
legislation as well as seeking multiple opinions for solving the challenges of sustainability. Merely
compliance with the existing codes, regulations and the legislations of the environment might not
be adequate. The engineering managers, wherever possible, should go beyond the minimum, and
should try to foresee the future regulation that could be stronger. They should implement their
technical expertise for driving new codes and legislation. These engineers cannot solve all the
issues all by themselves as the challenges are quite complex. Hence, they should engage with
stakeholders, consider and recognize the value of others’ opinions. During all stages of the
project, they should try not to work separately or alone. The utilization of diverse skills and
knowledge and seeking an approach that is well-balanced is necessary for the engineers. The
engineering managers should encourage and stimulate their own crucial leadership role in finding
sustainability solutions to benefit the society.
