I used popular search engines to search the article. I needed information on the consequences
of leakage of political decisions through various media platforms and the related
consequences. The public have their own ways of interpreting any political decisions. I used
the key terms like “political scandal”, “new media” and “gatekeeping” to search a relevant
article online. Fore mostly, I wanted to research on the current state of mediated politics and
the common ways of political communication (Clemente &Gabbioneta, 2017).

The paper that I have considered for this annotated bibliography tsk is not peer reviewed.
However the article is an academic journal that is published by the University of
Pennsylvania. Hence, it might be stated that it is a journal article that have been written for
academic purposes purely.

The author of this article is a famous author of books on political science and communication
and is the former Dean of the Annenberg School of Communication (Jansson, 2016). He has
also been employed as the senior professor of the University of Pennsylvania. Hence, the

authenticity and the validity of the views of the author regarding the issues with which the
article deals is unprecedented.

The writer is a peering instructor of the subject matter in a reputed university. Hence it can be
anticipated that the content in this paper is elevated and scholarly. Besides the thoughts of the
author have been presented in a lucid and representative manner (Lloydet al. 2014). He is
well aware about how to engage his reader alongside presenting stark reality in his works.

Citing sources of critical political happenings, the article criticises the conception and
representation of the latest media environment. The author communicates that political
information should pass through some reserved sources only. The author dose not stand for
the modification of political content. However, he does support suppression of some political
information that is sensitive and have the potential to affect certain section of people. The
author says that the intellect, knowledge or perseverance of every individual is not similar.
Hence people from all section are not likely to agree to any and every political decision.
According to Carpini, the media centres should be more cautious about revelation of political
news. In this regard, he discusses the consequences of the Lewinsky Scandal (Lonne&
Parton, 2014). The media channels are also profit making groups. Hence to gain popularity of
their channels they also often present political news in a eulogised fashion. It is necessary for
the elites of the society to understand the limitation of the media to be selective in news
presentation.

I found the paper quite akin to the topic presented in the paper by David L. Altheide.
Altheide’s paper discusses the critical role that the media plays in society. Nowadays media
portrays the negative incidents and the dirty secrets of the society more than the positive
facts. This evokes fear in the minds of the civilians (Manrique&Manrique, 2018). Often acts
are modulated also by the media channels in order to make the news popular among the
American society. Hence, this article is similar to the article in discussion here as the author
here also deals with the necessity of the media to be cautious about their content releases.

papers and why?
There are subtle varieties in the varieties in the views presented by the author in this article.
One of the articles by Kim and Willis deals with the capability of media in changing the
perception of the public about a general societal truth. Again, another article by David
Domingo deals with the latest innovations in the working ways of the media and how they
reflect on the presentation of news. In this regard, it can be said that the content of tis journal
article is much secular and belongs to a different track.

The role of media in the modern society is immense. Both Carpini and Altheide are trying to
stress on the similar facts. Carpini shows how this carefree attitude of the American media
can cause issues for the society. Media is obviously the mirror of the society. However, it is
the third pillar of the nation also. Hence for the sake of the society certain news that have the
potential of spreading of public agitation should better be avoided by the media. This is the
basic conclusion that I can derive from the two articles (Mellado, 2015).

The other article are dealing with the strength of the media in framing public opinion. These
articles sheds light on the positive impact of the media on the society.

These readings help us to frame an opinion on the present state of the operations of the media
in the present American society. As evident in the articles, some extraordinary news have the
latent heat necessary to spread a spoiler that might initiate agitation in the society. The media
should be particularly aware in presentation on political news.

harmful effects, which obesity brings. I think media plays an important role in this

obesity.

This article can help the people in gaining awareness regarding the latest trends, which have

The book reflects the thoughts, ideas and concepts of the authors regarding their
experience towards the subject. Dealing with media releases and handling of promotional
publicity works makes the author highly knowledgeable about the role played by
weblogs, media citizens and collaborative journalism. The theory of social shaping of

technology has also been dealt with, in this article. Hence it is evident that the author have
enough expertise to proficiently deal with the subject matter with which the article deals.

The research paper professes the importance of the relationship between journalists and
practitioners. Here, setting an agenda is crucial in terms of achieving positive outcomes.
The theoretical proposition of the article is that the journalists having high estimates of

This paper in unique in its own way. This is because the article deals with the agenda,

Williams can be related to this article, but not fully. Williams highlights the collapse of

This article would help to implement information about the technological innovations and
