The pages 91-116 of the book deals with the sexual activities in the society, as well as
the sexuality of the male and the female gender. The gender defines sexuality since the
performing identities of “Masculinity” and “Femininity” form the social divides. The author
says that the gender and sexuality are the underlying truths of the human nature. The author
also argues that the sexuality is not something that is inborn, but is acquires and they are
socially organized. He deals with a psychoanalytic theory which talks of the unconscious
sphere of mind, that represses the sexual desires of a person, and has a conflict of ideas and
fantasies.

The pages 361-373 deals with the sexual citizenship of the people of Malaysia and the
sexual rights of the people. The Malaysian LGBTs that are identified as lesbian, gay, bisexual
and transgender are found to be resisting the human rights since the politics react against the.
Thus the author here discusses about the sexual citizenship that takes into consideration
different frameworks of conflict with the help of which the marginalized people of the society
demand their rights. The author talks of Sexual independence which they call as “Seksualiti
Merdeka”. The author here attempts to inflict the knowledge of the subjects who have already
refused the sexual rights and the activists’ attempts to represent them.

The Pages 94- 119 of this book deals with the discourse of the modern citizenship.
With the relation to the socio-political and cultural development in Hong Kong, the author
here talks of how the men of Hong Kong are gay. He also discusses how these men through
the practices and by forming intimate relationships with the other men challenge the

heterosexist assumptions within the realms of the intimacies of the family members. He also
discusses how these gay men live within the boundaries of the heterosexual families and
challenge the general norms and the disciplinary norms of the familial heteronormativity.

The pages 17-36 of the book deals with the connection between sexuality and nationalism in
the Russian context. Drawing from Foucault’s concept of biopower, the author talks of the
restrictions of the citizens; sexual and reproductive ideas. He also discusses the sexual
nationalism in Russia, with the help of the media sources and the official documents. The
author talks about the sexuality, bio politics and the national interest of the people in Russia
and also the cultures that are unable to embrace the diversity of the sexual behaviour which
includes the LGBTs. He also talks about the rights of the women in Russia, and the
imperfections in Russian legislation.
