themselves. The Airtasker has a business model and they follow them to regulate their work

range of works and assign works to the labors as contract basis. The Union of NSW has
challenged the Airtasker and formed a negotiation with them for the betterment of the worker
working for the company through the job posters. The agreement between them protects the
worker’s benefits such as wages, insurance, safety, etc.
The employment structure is of Australia is changing with each passing day and
innovated technologies. The article under consideration clearly reflects that the online based
platform and gig economy has changed the ways that the activities of a labor are carried out. It

with the mixture of technology and human labor. The productivity of the labor is estimated to
decrease than the US. The article provides evidence through graphs that the jobs have declined
for the workers with the emergence of technology and the shift from routine jobs to non-routine
job is observed. The risks and transformation of the jobs are likely to increase and Australia has
30% part in it.

The article discuss the emergence of gig economy as the workers will have jobs of their
choice more of a freelancer ways. Even the compensation will be dealt through the online
platform only. The article reflects the implications that the gig economy have on the labors’ of
Australia. The existing workers are changing from their full time job to the gig works and through
the digital platforms available. One effective industry in the transportation, the introduction of
Uber is the clear example of gig work. However, Uber claim that they are not the employer of the
drivers of Uber, they just simply provide information of the passengers. The gig economy is
supposed to regulate itself in the form of a triangle that consist of the service provider, the user
and the online platform that is working as a medium. The user of the services has to obey the
terms and conditions of the services and the online platform. The workers of gig economy is
generally considered to be self-employed and operation on contract basis with reporting to any
employer (Stewart & Stanford, 2017). As the labors do not come under the regular laws
therefore, protection for the gig workers are expected to come from the existing laws only. The
policymakers are expected to enforce the laws like minimum wages must be given even to the
gig workers after the completion of the assigned work. The concept of employment must be
expanded and includes the gig workers in them.
Hence, this article is helpful for understanding the perspective of the gig worker on the
online platform and their demand with the emerging technologies. The protection and benefits
that they must obtain as the normal employment of Australia is clear. The changing style in the
working pattern in Australia is clear.

I have learned that the economy of Australia is changing with faster pace and the
emerging global market of labor is also becoming challenging day by day. The articles clearly
reflect that the availability of technology and access to gig economy have enable the labors to
shift their choices toward the online platform and obtain for the jobs as per their comfort zone
only. Hence, I think the face of works in Australia is changing for the betterment of the country as
well as for the labors. I haven’t face any challenge which doing the task and for the next time I
will focus on the types of work changing in Australia.
