INTRODUCTION
Festival and event planning plays vital role in order to make sure that all the activities
that are set can be completed and desired goal can be attained. As per the present report, Anzac
Day Sydney event is taken in to consideration. This report provides description of the event,
describing objectives, purpose and aims. Lastly, it also includes possible impacts of event that
has on host community.
PART ONE
Description of the event
ANZAC Day is considered to be a national day that is celebrated each year on 25th April.
This day is for the remembrance of all Australians who have served and died in war. It is an
opportunity for current service men and women, veterans and general public to pay respects for
the people who served for the country. There various type of programs that are help in this
event. The event starts from 9:00am from Elizabeth Street and Martin Place (Australia).
Marching is done and its order can not be change without approval from Chief Marshal. Apart
from this, it also includes services like Wreath lying, Commemoration service and Sunset service
ceremony which get ended up by 12:30 (What is ANZAC DAY?. 2017). Before marching take
place, there are ceremonies that start from 4:00am and ends up by 5:30am. In this context, it
includes services like Pre-Ceremony, Catafalque Party & Brand march on, Ceremony
commences and Ceremony concludes. Total durations shows for completing this event will be
8:30 hours. Promotional is highly important so that more and more get to know about the event.
All the activities related to promotion is done by two agencies which Department of Veteran’s
Affairs (DVA) and Returned and Service League. They make use of social sites so that it can be
promoted and people take part in large number.
Aim: To celebrate ANZAC Day and make it a memorable one. As per the type of aim that
is set will help in making sure that success of event can be attained. It enables to develop path
through which it can be achieved.

event a successful one. An event is considered to be successful when the people visit in large
number and take part in it and get satisfied. Further, the satisfaction level of people is based on
when proper management of programs and time is done so that individuals have appropriated
understanding regarding the total time each of the program may take. All the objectives set are in
measurable terms. When each of the objective is attained, then it will enable to attain the aim.
Apart from this, it is important that proper considerations is made for funding so that all
activities can be carried out efficiently.

Process for evaluation of event
For making the event evaluate, there are different type of steps that can be taken into
consideration. With this respect, it includes methods like observation of empirical evidence,
media coverage, organizer’s reports and audience survey. Among these four type of possible
process, use of both observational empirical evidence and media coverage will be done.
Empirical evidence which is also known as sensory experience enables to provide information
received with the means of senses, documentation and observation and behaviour through
experimentation. This is helpful enough to verify the truth or falsity (Bowler, Buyung-Ali and
Pullin, 2010). On the other hand, media coverage enables to provide effective information in
relation with the event. This way, all the areas can be considered in which risk can arise. As per
the findings made appropriate steps can be taken with the help of which steps are taken to
eliminated them.
The coverage of the medial will help to satisfy the first objective that is set. In this
context, the news that are broadcasted can be seen by other people and this can help in promoting
and to make people around the world to know about the event and the main cause due to which it
is organized. There are many community groups are involved in the event that have to get
involved in the marching. There is a sequence made for each of the community. In this context, it
includes Police motorcycle escort, Mounted Police, Australian Invictus Team, etc. When all
