migration required for investments in networking, systems, and storage (Karen, 2012; Hiren,
2012).
As both medium and small sized companies focus on the outsourcing of cloud
computing payroll services, major security issues have grown to be a concern (Kevin, 2012;
Sumner & Rob, 2010).
Exercise 4
Every business todays is turning to cloud computing considering the advantages it
brings with it. According to Tziritas et al. (2013), “They can make savings with cloud
computing because the subscription-based online applications involved in the system will
replace expensive software licensed for individual desktops, while employees will experience
unlimited access to databases and other shared resources.” (Elsa, 2011, p.28).
Cloud computing systems make businesses to focus more on the clients and core
services. According to Tziritas et al document, “the computing nodes of a cloud system, such
that the total amount of resources consumed by the respective application is minimized.”
(Tziritas et al, 2013, p.1690). This makes businesses have an even higher production and
success rate.
Cloud computing comes with numerous business benefits but with also major issues.
Steve’s document points out issues including, “... recording policies and bandwidth, the low
price point experienced by software-as-a-service (SaaS) organizations to compared to
existing on premise solutions, and the presence of a larger ecosystem of partners that
continually consume and add to a SaaS company's content and value.” (Steve, 2011, p.34).
Therefore, businesses should analyze the readiness of its employees shifting to a cloud based
data management.
