I believe in the application of modern Information and Communication Technology
(ICT) in health care. As a professional, I must embrace the use of ICT because it will enable me
to deliver high quality and safe care to the patients to the satisfaction of my patients. Technology
is good because it can enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the services I deliver at all
times. That is why I have decided to embrace all sorts of technology as long as it improves my
patients’ experiences.
Demonstrate your leadership
As a professional, I believe that I should always improve my career with time. Even if I
join an organization at junior levels, I know for certain that one day, I must be promoted to the
leadership roles. My understanding of leadership is that it is a challenging undertaking that
requires lots of preparations and competencies. If I get an opportunity to serve as a leader, I can
do my best to be a team player, determined, hardworking, and democratic leader who does not
impose decisions on my team, but seek for their opinion before doing so.
Work effectively across boundaries
Working across boundaries is necessary for the 21st century healthcare provider because it
gives them an opportunity to fit into any environment regardless of their diversities. Working
across boundaries is also important because it enhances the spirit of intercultural operations.

Meaning, it can make it easier for the healthcare providers to be culturally-competent
professionals who can deliver safe, quality, and accommodative care to the patients from various
backgrounds. That is why, as a professional, I will always seek to work effectively beyond my
boundaries.
Evaluate the impact of social, cultural, spiritual, legal, political and economic factors on health
and care
Health care is subject to manipulation by the various social, cultural, legal, political,
spiritual, and economic factors. These are the forces which have a direct influence on the
healthcare matters in every society. For example, a favorable political climate enhances
healthcare delivery because it is supportive. Legal factors also play a significant role in
healthcare because of the formulation of laws, regulations, and policies geared towards the
improvement of health care. Social, cultural, and economic factors, on the other hand, play a
major role in determining the people’s accessibility to healthcare services.
Demonstrate critical understanding of contemporary research
I believe that research has become a major component of the modern healthcare delivery
because without it, it might not be possible for the practitioners to acquaint themselves with
information on the latest trends in the sector. I support the research because it plays a significant
role in the promotion of the implementation of Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) that has, of
course, become the order of the day. All the healthcare providers should, hence, spare time to
visit the library and online databases from which they can access the best publications in their
respective areas of specialization.

Maintain your own personal, learning from experience, through supervision, feedback,
reflection and evaluation
I believe in evaluation and self-improvement. As a focused professional, I always take
the necessary steps to assess myself to determine my strong and weak areas in which I need to
make the required improvements. I have been doing by conducting a self-assessment, and relying
on the feedback from others. At the same time, I have been relying on my experience as a way of
adjusting myself because I learn from it.
Demonstrate independent thinking, critical thinking, problem solving and creativity
Although I treasure team play, I must also acknowledge that I am an independent-minded
personality who possesses other attributes like critical thinking and creativity, and problem
solving. These are some of the skills that I always apply because they are necessary for providing
solution to practical challenges faced each day in the course of my duties.
Examine the impact of political and social contexts on the provision of health care
The provision of healthcare services in any country is subject to influence from the
political and social contexts in which the sector operates. The political climate of a nation can
influence healthcare provision because it is the political leaders who make most of the laws,
policies and decisions applied in the healthcare sector. Meaning, politics directly influences
issues like the training of personnel, funding, insurance policies, and distribution of healthcare
facilities, infrastructure, and equality in health care. Social context, on the other hand, influences
healthcare equality and equity through its impacts on social class and cultural values held by
people in different parts of the country.
