Introduction
The Advance Practice Nurses (APN) are the care professionals having profound knowledge in
providing unbiased quality care maintaining the nursing care ethics. The role of the APNs is to
provide primary and acute care, delivering reproductive health care, providing quality care to the
patients, managing ongoing patients and providing full ranged anesthesia for the certified nurse.
The evolution of APN started back in the 1980s with the motif of providing effective and quality
care.
Analysis
Summary of the article
The article has articulated the evolution and the role of the APNs in health care (Neville & Roan,
2014). The evolution of the APN practice started in the later part of the twentieth century. The
APNs are categorized into three sections; nurse midwives, nurse anesthetist and clinical nurse
specialist (Neville & Roan, 2014). The three stages of APNs are specialty development practice,
organized specialty training and standardized and emergence of nursing graduation. The role of
APN is to provide unbiased quality acre that has been mentioned in the article (Neville & Roan,
2014).
Historical evolution
The historical evolution of the APN practice s can be traced from 1970 to 1980. All the nursing
practices are not considered to be the advanced practiced (Keating, 2014). However, nurses
having proper knowledge regarding care ethics, proper development practice, organization
specialty training and must have a graduate degree in nursing are the advanced practiced nurses
(Keating, 2014).
Role of advanced practice nursing
The APNS should be efficient in providing unbiased quality care, providing productive care,
managing patients needs and capability of full ranged anesthesia. Providing quality is the ethical
outcome for the APN (Neville & Roan, 2014).

nursing practice. The role of APNs has helped me to develop my interpersonal capabilities of
nursing practice.
Conclusion
The study has discussed the role and evolution of the APN. It can be concluded that the APNs
are allowed to provide quality care to all the patients having proper knowledge in nursing ethics.
