Introduction
This is a physical network design for Apple Company. The report contains five parts
which are a background information about Apple, a network design, a floor plan for the
organization, and DS report, AP report, BSS Report, and ESS information. The diagrams were
developed using Ms. Visio
Background of Apple Company
Apple Company is a subnational company which is headquartered in Cupertino in
California. Specifically, the company is involved in designing, selling, and developing computer
software, online services, and consumer electronics. Some of the hardware include iPad, iPhone,
and smartphone. Example of hardware products includes HomePod smart speaker, iPhone,
smartphone, laptops, Mac personal computer, Apple watch, iPad tablet and many more. Some
software products by the company are the iOS operating system and macOS operating systems,
iWork, Safari web browser, and iTunes media. Apple Company occupies a 32 acres space in six
building which is spread to more than four floors. By 2017, the company had approximately
123,000 employees (Schulze, et al., 2014)
Sort of network used for each Department
As shown from figure one, Apple Company has six departments i.e. marketing, sales,
procurement, human resource, IT departments, and the finance department. The IT department
is connected to the Local Area Network. In addition, as shown by figure two the department is
also connected via the Wireless network. The finance department is connected to the
organization network via a wireless switch which is manageable by the IT department. The
Human Resource department is connected to the organization network via WLAN which is the

same with the other two departments; sales and marketing departments. The remote office is
connected to the organization network via a router which is connected remotely to the main
router (Oppenheime, 2010).

From the diagram the company is composed of six-floor building and a remote office.
The remote office has one workstation with an application server. The router in the main office
and in the remote office are connected remotely

This a floor for the main office with a ground floor and other six floors. Only three floors
and the ground which has wireless Access Points.

The figure shows an architectural which is defined by IEEE 802.11 standard. This
standard defines the distribution system and also agglomerates lots of BSS into one ESS. Apple
can make the DS be either wireless or wired. Usually, the IEEE 802.11 standard which separates
the wireless medium of DSM from the transmission wireless medium. In addition to this when
stations are on the same BSS, they usually communicate via Access Points.

Conclusion
The organization has utilized CAT 5e type of cabling. In future, the organization needs to
utilize an optic type of cabling. This type of cabling minimizes attenuation and decrease in
strength of signals. In addition to this, the organization needs to have a local area network for
each department.
