FOUNDATION OF BUSINESS
The competitiveness and reputation of a company is based on factors such as the quality
of its products and services. Apple Inc., a market leader in technology, is currently the highest
valued corporation in the world. Founded in 1976 by two college dropouts Steve Wozniak and
Steve Jobs, Apple Inc.is currently the world’s most dominant company in both stock price and
market share (Beattie, 2019). The Founders of the company had a vision of making computers
available in every home. My reason for the choice of Apple Corporation is based on multiple
reasons. First, the Apple Company has remained consistent in doing what it does best, which is
introducing products that make people excited. In a single decade, the company has managed to
introduce the iPad, iPhone, iTunes and iPod which are some of the most successful products in
the technology world. On the same note, the company has defined its brand by consistency by
consistently delivering desirable, quality and high-end products (Emberton, 2019). Secondly, the
distinctiveness of the company is also one of the features that make it stand out among
competitors. Although there is a sea of products in the market, the company has managed to
produce products that stand out from those offered by rivals. Thirdly, the decision to partner with
its main rival Microsoft in 1997 is also an important reason why I chose it. The genius move
demonstrated that Microsoft Corporation did not have to lose for Apple Inc. to win
(Viswanathan, 2019). Finally, the success of the company has also been contributed by its
dynamic business plan. The company has always embarked on market research to identify what
resonates well with its target audience (Viswanathan, 2019).
